Liverpool thread 2017/18

Liverpool are actually 25 points and 33 goals behind us. (How can that last figure of 33 goals 22 in attack, 11 in defence be even possible with their free scoring attack? Could it possibly be less free scoring than ours? Surely not.) Indeed they actually finished this season with 1 less point than last season.
Kryptonite they may be to Pep's single-pivot attacking formation but they have real problems against teams that park the bus and don't give their forwards space behind their back line. Indeed I haven't seen much of an improvement in this aspect of their game this season. A big problem for next season as more teams are starting to play this way against them.
I think Klopp has seen the problem and he needs an AM like Silva (Fakir?) with guile who can pass - but one is not enough. Huge chunks of their team do not have the relevant skill set (Henderson, Milner to name but two). I think they'll improve but not as much as delusional Luverpool fans think. I think we'll drop 6 or 7 points too - though with a fully fit Sergio for the first time since December 2013 we may actually improve!

Not self entitlement just facts with economics in football today.

We are a self sustaining club in the top 8 richest turnovers on the planet,we will be be passing Chelsea Arsenal and PSG on that list in the next 12 months,we generate OUR own money off the field and the only funding FSG do is stadium expansion and paying off the hicks/gilette stadium debt, they have never funded signings out of their pocket since they have been at the club, they made that clear when they bought the club.

Like i said, our turnover will be over 450+ million next window going up 90-100 million after our CL run and extra match day and new commercial partners,we have signed keita for 52 and fekir will be done for 62 and thats with half of the coutinho money spent on VVD.

Long term we are healthy financially and in the financial bracket to drop 50-60 million on a player just like the likes of you Arsenal Juve Chelsea bayern have done for years,we are finally in that bracket of financial strength now to spend big.

It's not by magic we have grown,we are more dilligant in recruitment which has worked as we have a squad to qualify for the CL annually and go deep in it,we are increasing match day revenues and further and our commercial dept is finally maximising our (name) standing in the world game getting commercial partners.

I may just be speaking for myself here, but I do not give a fuck about your club or your scummy fans , so hopefully after RM have given you twats a spanking, you will fuck off back into your box .

Oh look. This cxnt is back. And this time, sanctimonious ignorant hypocrite that he is, he presumes to lecture us about club finances.

Understand some history, dipshit. For the first 70 odd years of its existence, Liverpool were pretty much an insignificance in comparison to what they’d later achieve. They won a handful of titles, same as City really, but nothing that set the world alight. They did not win their first FA Cup, for instance, for 60 years after we won ours. Decent team, not world beaters. In Everton’s shadow for a fair chunk of their history.

Then, in the 1960s and 1970s, the Littlewoods family invested very very heavily in the club. So much so that a team that was in the second division in 1962 were champions of Europe 15 years later, a title they went on to win 4 times in 8 seasons. That investment brought them Clements and Keegan and Toshack and Dalgleish and Souness and Hansen. It bought them league titles and FA cups and European cups and more besides. In 15 years a club that started as journeymen became the stand-out team in the whole of Europe, if not the world. And it was all done on the back of significant investment. It is, in other words, no more and no less than what we are doing 40 years later.

So when you come on here and lecture us about how your saintly club - the one that connives at criminal attacks on an opposition team bus - never funds transfer fees from its owner’s pocket, you are either a liar and a hypocrite or fucking stupid beyond belief and ignorant of your own club’s history. Judging from your previous posts and your inability to acknowledge that your contributions to this forum are on the whole not well received, my assessment is you are just fucking stupid beyond belief.

By the way, let me explain part of your own post to you. You know when you said “We are a self sustaining club in the top 8 richest turnovers on the planet”? What you meant by ‘in the top eight’ was that you are in fact eighth. Now go back to the news item where you found that nugget of information and see if you can see who is fifth. That’s right, City. The club that you have come on this forum to be disrespectful to - the one with a bigger turnover than yours, for all its istree. Do you understand that? Let me repeat it for you. City is a self sustaining club, in the top 5 richest turnovers on the planet. We generate our own money. The days of substantial owner investment in playing staff are over. Infrastructure is different, but in terms of playing staff, we are running at a profit even whilst spending substantially on players in the last 2-3 seasons. Your criticism would have stank of hypocrisy 10 years ago. Now it is not simply hypocritical, it’s just untrue. Still, like most Liverpool fans I’m sure you won’t let the truth get in the way of a good excuse.

So don’t come on here lecturing us about our club’s finances, you little cxnt, because you frankly don’t have the first fucking clue what you are talking about.

Now fuck off you ignorant twat.

Jesus Christ, id say thats game set and match to Chris, great post

Jason Frost, 50, from Nuneaton, was attacked just hours after arriving in Kiev after a travelling through Istanbul to watch Jurgen Klopp’s
men take on the Spanish side on Saturday.

He said: “We were having dinner, completely minding our own business. I didn’t come here for this. I came to watch the football.

“We’ve been here for four hours and then we’re getting attacked. They came at us like a pack of dogs. It just kept coming. It was terrifying.”

Id love to hear Jasons views on any City players who said "we were just travelling to the game, minding our own business. We didn't come here for this, we came to play football. We were just travelling through and then we're getting attacked. They came at us like a pack of dogs. It just kept coming. It was terrifying."
If that's who I think it is I worked with him 10 years ago down in Northampton. One of the nicest and most knowledgeable lads you could hope to meet. And if it is him, I can tell you he'd have no truck with the people who attacked our team coach.

Imagine your club being such a bunch of c*cks that you managed to unite two bitter rivals into joining hand in hand in unanimously supporting another club hated around the world, just because there's not a living soul wanting success for your club.

Imagine that.

That's Liverpool.

Oh. So THAT’S what a hot poker shoved up one’s ass feels like.

Well done, Chris.

Klopp's in the for long haul,he's stated it could be even longer than the 4 year's he has left.

The money ball thing isn't all to do with money it's about analytical data in signing players, that's what Oakland Athletics did when Billly Beane lost his best players to free agency and his team were a low market one so they devised a strategy of targeting players using analytical data, the Redsox owned by FSG followed the same blueprint and won 3 world series after a 86 year drought, before fsg they were reknowned for wasting money on any free agent to stop them going to the Yankees.

Micheal Edwards the DoF is analytical nerd of sorts and FSG recruited him to do the same analytic approach to Liverpool, probably explains our decent transfer record the last 30 months since he's been DoF.

They won't be much turnover of players that much anyway we have a squad age just under 25 years old and have Keita and Fekir coming in the summer to plug our glaring creativity in midfield to break down park bus sides, those 2 were targeted because they rate off the chart in chance creation and dribbles, classic DoF Edwards analytical data signings.

The club turnover is going to be closer to £500 million than £400 million in the next turnover results,we just inked a 160 million 4 year shirt sponsor renewal with standard Chartered this week, the Annie Road expansion to 62k is going to start after next season and they are rumours now the Kop corners are going to filled in further expansion.

You compare us to a Southampton saying that could happen to us,our turnover will be about £250 million pounds more than them so i don't think we will end up in a situation like them,we just blow them away off the pitch with revenues as they only rely on one source of the tv deal and have limited match day and commercial revenues. We had no CL revenues last year and still made the world top 8,i don't even think Southampton made the top 30.

And FSG's policy is we spend what we earn, with turnover going up into the £400-500 million bracket we can spend big on any player Klopp desires and FSG don't need to put their hands in the pockets when you have revenues like that,if they have put money in their pockets it was to finance the main stand expansion (interest free loan to the club) and pay off the stadium debt left by the fraudulent cowboys (which is paid off now).

FSG are finally getting the club revenues growing commercially and from match day revenues and exploiting the clubs world wide reach, something Moores/Parry criminally failed to do when United were starting their behemoth enterprise in the mid 90's,they just stood idly by and watch United take over us off the pitch (as well on it).
All of that and yet you’re 20 points further off from winning the league than you were under Brendon.

Lovely stuff.

We are a self sustaining club in the top 8 richest turnovers on the planet,we will be be passing Chelsea Arsenal and PSG on that list in the next 12 months,we generate OUR own money off the field and the only funding FSG do is stadium expansion
So do we. We are just considerably better at it.
