I could go on because that handful of idiots sure gets around. The thing is, there is a sizeable element of Liverpool’s support for whom ‘feral scum’ is a pretty accurate description. Maybe thats not all Liverpool fans and maybe it isn’t even a majority. But what do either the club, Merseyside police or the wider fan base do about the scum element of their support? They do absolutely fuck all, that’s what. Take you for an example. You come on here spouting your shit about our fan bases being basically the same, but do City fans have form for anything like the small selection above? Do the fans of any club other than Liverpool?

But here’s The real problem. What has your club done, ever, to try to control the scum element of your fan base - you know, that “handful of idiots”? Banning orders? Liaison with police? Naming and shaming? Coordinated actions between police and stewards? Last year scores of idiots hurled objects at our first team coach. Your stewards did absolutely fuck all to protect a visiting team. Shame on them, shame on your team.

Come to think of it, shame on you, too. What have you done personally to rid you club of the cancer that infects it? Have you for instance gone on RAWK denouncing the twats that bricked our team coach last year and asking all right thinking Liverpool fans to do likewise? Have you called in to Radio City to complain about this “handful of idiots” that regularly gives Liverpool a bad name? Have you written to the Echo to make these points?

No of course you haven’t. Neither you nor the team you support have done a thing - literally not lifted a finger - to address these issues either. Even Chelsea have done a lot to eradicate the knuckle dragging racist elements of their support. LFC have done fuck all, and they never will do.

This miserable lie that you peddle - that the sub human scum that make up your support is just a handful of idiots, not a deep and ugly stain on the entire fan base, the club and the City - is why people say ‘it’s never your fault’. It isn’t Liverpool fans that smashed the pub after an away game, just a handful of idiots. It isn’t Liverpool fans that fought and looted their way round Europe in the 80s and 90s, just a handful of idiots. So it isn’t really your fault. Well, nothing ever is. Excellent post and for those of us that remember taking a chance with our lives (and getting your arse slashed with double stanley knives) and the very likelyhood of being ambushed in stanley park (whilst merseyside police turn a blind eye/disappear) going to anfield in the 70s and 80s was one away I hated..............We HAVE to retain the title this year , we'll never hear the last of it if them feckers do it.......JFT96..ynwa every title winning season will be played on a loop all next season all pundits and media will be in overdrive it will be sickening not just for us but the rest of the premiership , probably thats why every club including everton dont want them winning it

Yeah it's true we say "help" but nobody is really gifting us wins, Everton definitely didn't. Teams wont be trying to beat Liverpool for our sake either, players raise themselves in games they know will have a lot of attention on them(felt like Walcott was doing that during the game for example). It's also that Liverpool are showing cracks now, they don't seem that invincible or that the football gods are quite as with them to some of the teams they have coming up, it's good timing really.

We can't get into the mindset that people want us to win that badly, we are just the lesser of two evils at best to most PL clubs supporters and they aren't the ones on the pitch. The players will still raise their games against us in high profile matches, just as they will against Liverpool, now that the title race has heated up. It's instant recognition, if you can fuck up someone's title tilt.

Let's not forget that every single supporter of a particular club may want us to beat their team so that the victims don't claim the league, but that means absolutely nothing to the team and the players. We like to think we make a differenc, but the reality.....
