Bit of a debate at work this morning. Lfc fan said they had never been 10pts clear this season. Only 7 is this correct ? Or were they 10pts clear with a game in hand after they beat Arsenal? Cheers

Exactly this when it’s done it’s done, them being one point ahead felt like they had the upper hand now it’s City with the point gap it feels like we have zero riggle room but it is back in the players hands rather than watching Liverpool and hoping they slip up.

It’s good they have a week to regroup and see who is ready to come back into the fold fitness wise, I think the players will smell blood though and have a spring in their step knowing what they can potentially achieve in the coming months.

Agree with that.
That said if we do have ultimate bottle, it will be ever so good for Shearer to tell the world that City are a great team on MOTD on Sunday 12th May. Though he'll probably find another excuse not to say it!

Blues are showing far too much schadenfreude above. It's not over till it's over.
Liverpool have the slightly easier title run-in. Our league season probably depends on a run of four games:
- Crystal Palace (A)
- Tottenham Hotspur (H)
- Manchester United (A)
- Burnley (A)

3 of the above teams took points off us last season!
Well said, mate. The united squad that blew an eight pound lead in just three games was highly experienced at winning titles. We have to be clear favourites now, and it’s in our hands, but it’s a long way from over.

Found little to disagree with from Klopp apart from citing the wind. There are 27 pts to play for with the slimmest of margins, better to be ahead but race is far from over. I would hold off on the epitaphs just yet

True enough. Plenty of football still to be played yet. I think the general giddyness in here though isn't because anyone thinks it's all over but more to do with the fact that if you told us after the Newcastle defeat the other week - when Liverpool had the chance to go 7 points clear the following night against Leicester - that we'd be top in early March, every City fan on the planet would've snatched your hand off.

I’m not sure, it’s pretty difficult to keep up over Xmas/NY - that said, if they had beaten us they would have been 10 points clear

They were 1 game away from being 10 clear, now they are 1 behind. That’s some collapse

Could you just imagine if pool had come from behind to win 1:2..........

From City Fans in match comments on 'it's the hope that kills you..."

To Wind what wind? And

an emotional and compassionate Klopp consoles teary ball boy...and

We are top again..Who would want to be chasing top spot in March..?

All City fans know there will be few surprises before season ends but

at least, for now, one week less of the media love in, in all things klopp

When have they ever chased and won a title? Christ they even bottled it on the last game of the season once against Arsenal when even losing could have won them the title only not by 2 goals and they fucked that up!!

Pretty sure they chased down and won a couple way back in the early-mid 80's when Rush was playing for them but it's completely irrelevant to the present day as it's not like they have any of the same players or management as they had back then. Pointless comment really
