Though this is never mentioned.

Is it just me or do they put a negative spin on us going for the quadruple? Any time it's mentioned by pundits there's always sniggers.

They don't think we can do it and tbf nobody has ever managed, even the rags treble was achieved with a points total that would only secure 4th spot this season and some serious flukes in both cups. There's a few journalists started talking about it when we were 4 points behind in the league and in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and they were obviously setting us up to fail, now that we're reaching a point where it's realistic to talk about, those journalists are a bit quieter.

One of the buswreckers' fans at work this morning claimed we would have lost if there was VAR at Liberty on Saturday.

I asked him how he knew, because after they’d reviewed the first decision, the rest of the game would have followed a different course and reminded him that we had a very good penalty shout in the first half.

I then asked him about all the offside goals Liverpool have had this season. Unsurprisingly, he couldn’t recall any of them.

No they just keep mentioning it so that when it doesn’t happen they can say we failed in our attempts to achieve it

Chelsea came closest in 2007. They'd won the League Cup, went on to win the FA Cup, were in the title race (finished runners-up) and only went out of the CL after their SF with Liverpool. So up to May 1st they were still in with a shout of the quadruple.
