Liverpool thread 2018/19

It’s all about Liverpool dropping points because they are unable to handle the pressure. And even than we need to win nearly every game. Their fixture list looks easy. A lot easier than ours. Especially when we need to play Spurs an United there is a big chance we have a CL tie somewhere around that time as well.
Also I can see them building the pressure on us leading the table with more points and more games played

The cry from us for them dropping points in a derby game they should’ve won is a bit premature and has a disparity to it. Let’s take it one game at the time.

To be fair that would on average be 10 shots per minute or a shot every 6 seconds.
I know we are brilliant but ...
The cnuts seriously cracking up.
Sorry I forgot to add that he (??) scored with his right foot. How awful is that.We really are a lucky team.

What's Steven Gerrard doing these days?

I was wondering where the 10 points came from, as I only remember they could've been 10 beating us

No one mentioned them being 10 points clear of us at the time as we'd slipped to third, it was all about them being 8 in front of the other media favourites Spurs.

Their bottle is going, lets see how they handle hopefully being 4 points behind us this weekend.............

What is Merson’s problem with us? He criticised Klopp on the debate but then says he shouldn’t be worried about us as we won’t win all 9 games. Why are we any less likely to win them all than Liverpool? I just can’t grasp why so many pundits, even those with no affiliation to the dippers want to see them win the league.

Merson also said several weeks back something along the lines of that as Liverpool had lost 1 game and us 4, they'd have to lose 3 more games than us in the run-in for us to have a chance of winning the title and he couldn't see them losing that many. So here we are today and Liverpool have still only lost 1 game and we've still lost 4, yet we are the ones who are top of the league. The thick twat can't understand that too many draws can screw up a team's title chances, and it's entirely possible that a team can win the league despite losing more games than the team that finishes 2nd. That's what did for Liverpool in 2008-09 under Rafa. They only lost 2 games, whereas United lost 4 but won the league.

And they seriously want us to believe that Scousers can only survive on food stamps.
To be fair that may be so ... but the fuckers coming from any of the Norwegian and Irish countries don`t have that problem.Maybe the food banks over here should offer them the tickets instead of milk, butter, bread, spuds etc.
Nah fuck it.
£6000.Let `em eat bread.
It’s not bread they need, a dollop of humble pie is on its way.

Most of them have never known what it's like to struggle to pay for a for a match ticket as lots of fans do at all clubs and they actually believe Liverpool winning is the romantic option that football is desperate to see.

In reality the West Ham fans I saw talking on the bus after the game and disappointed to lose by that penalty were emphatic they didn't want the Scousers winning anything.

So for all the media dirt thrown at our club, ordinary fans know who the enemies of football are, and it isn't us.

Spot on. Had a Chelsea fan on the phone at work last week who had been to the League Cup final saying it was a pleasure to walk down Wembley Way and not see any animosity or piss-taking from City fans, unlike when they play Liverpool, United, or some of the other London clubs (that's despite City and Chelsea fans having a fair bit of history with each other back in the 80's). Sure, taking the piss and engaging in banter during the match is all part and parcel of football culture but as a set of fans, we're nowhere near as insufferable as those of certain other clubs - the only real exception being to local United fans especially when we were dogshit and they were winning everything but apart from that it's not really in our nature to ram any success down the throats of other fans. Not only that, Liverpool have fans all over the country in every village, town, and city, and many of them will piss off the locals with their incessant bullshit, sanctimony, and lack of self-awareness despite most of them never having attended a match at Anfield. That's where a lot of the animosity towards their club will come from for many football fans, as it does with United. It's not really the clubs themselves that are the issue, even though neither club has covered itself in glory at various points down the years (and ours isn't perfect either of course). No, it's the fans first and foremost that define how much a club is hated, and most genuine football fans aren't in the least bit arsed about City's money or FFP or our owner. Now if City ever become as popular support-wise and the fans every bit as insufferable as those two to boot, then we'll be universally hated too.

Of course, that doesn't apply to all Liverpool and United fans but it goes some way to explaining why so many fans of other clubs can't stand either of them. I happen to know a handful of Liverpol fans and none of them really fall into that bracket.

Merson is just thick,it is as simple as that,I'm convinced Sky employ him for entertainment value only,he pronounces players names wrong,(on purpose sometimes I think),just for laughs, which they do on that Soccer Saturday show.

I am not doubting he was a good player,in an era where he was part of a good team, but he went down the booze and drugs road, and should find himself extremely lucky that he has a job like he does, especially being another failed manager, but Sky don't seem to mind about that, ala Chuckle and no doubt Henry soon to be back on our screens.

Take what he says with a pinch of salt, because most of it is just made up in his fucked up head

I was reading an article soon after Henry got the sack, regarding a "comeback" at Sky.By all accounts Sky believe Henry is not a suitable candidate any longer,as they found him to be quite boring.
Fuck me,one or two more should be getting their P45`s from Sky.

Well I won't be in a hurry to see him back on,so no loss if he doesn't,but like you say there should be a few more shown the door based on that reason.

This for me is where the pressure really mounts. If, hopefully, we go out and smash Watford, they will have to get something against Burnley. They will know even a win leaves them still a point behind and anything less is a bit of a disaster. Let's hope the Burnley of old turn up. Blanket defence and smash a couple totally against the run of play on the break. If it is 0-0 after 60 minutes their arses will be twitching. Even better an early Burnley goal and 0-1 down.
