When you have 30+ shots, some of them are going to be blocked and some deflected. I won't call yesterday's win lucky, they totally deserved it, though they have been lucky many times this season.

Maybe but you make your own luck. If they win the league they will deserve to. Still a very long way to go yet.

You're still favorites, nobody is claiming otherwise.

It's a little dispiriting we're having an unreal season, historic possibly but probable chance even that won't be enough.

It doesn't mean just because you're boss everyone else must be sh@t though, difference between last season and this is you won't walk it. But with Pep it possibly won't matter anyway.

But we do have a good squad now, something that has never been true for a long time--even in 2008/9 and 2013/14 we didn't have a squad.

After spending a quarter of a billion pounds in the transfer window and setting world record transfer fees for central defenders and goalkeepers, I think the least you should be expecting is to have "a squad".

Whats the general consensus amongst match going fans ? Klopp recently came out with a statement that was probably just flippent, but with your squad much better are you now demanding trophies ?

I said last season and earlier this season, imo that klopp needs to win the league title either this season or next at the latest

Our players have been there and done it before and can cope with that.

Our players are not immune to pressure. In both the close title runs, we dropped points to the likes of Sunderland, Swansea in the run-in to put our rivals ahead. We have experience winning it but it isn't much of an advantage. Ferguson's United had won several titles yet bottled an 8 point lead. Every season is different. It maybe that Liverpool are more hungry and motivated than us this season to win a title they haven't won for decades. Right now they have a slender edge due to their invincibility, but if we win on Jan 3rd, we are right on top.

Some right flappers in here. Liverpool have made a great start to the season. Their best ever. They have made errors defensively but got away with it. Had late goals to avoid defeat or win games and remain undefeated. But we are 1pt behind them. And we have had injuries to Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne and Mendy as well as others.

It is a long season. Liverpool went at pre-season hard. Their squad is clearly doing better than we all thought but one defeat will test them and there is plenty of football still to play.

We went on a ridiculous winning run last season and it will take the same to put a gap to them and win the league. After Christmas both teams will drop points with CL to contend with and pressure will mount if a title becomes in reach. Their players will be under huge pressure from the media and fans alike and each game will become tougher.

Our players have been there and done it before and can cope with that. I even think it wouldn't be a bad thing to lose to them when we play them. That will result in "this is their year" articles everywhere. Klopp will not be able to pretend they are not thinking about the title and presshre mounts.

Having said that, I am sure we will hand them a beating again. Whilst they are dangerous on the counter they cannot dominate a game like us and it comes after they play Arsenal who will give them a real game.
Fuck me, some of the arse flapping on here is getting ridiculous. But then I think back to last season when a lot of us couldn't quite believe we could win the league when we were something like 16 points ahead with 8 matches to go. So not really surprised to see this negativity surfacing when we're a point behind, even if it is only December. Contrast that to the dippers who were singing "we're gonna win the league" 2 or 3 weeks ago.
Clearly just a cultural issue with our fanbase, nothing more.

Do you honestly see any complacency/pressure in the way we have been playing so far this season.
I don't think we'd have dropped as many points as we have so far if we hadn't suffered so many injuries to our senior players as we have.
A bit too early to start flapping imo.

I don't have a crystal ball just like anyone else but the thought has been occurring to me that this season might be Liverpool's best chance of winning the league if they can somehow get past us. I can see next season being a lot closer with this season's new managers being bedded in and them having 2 more transfer windows to improve their squads.
If we manage to retain it this season then Liverpool might be waiting a lot longer to win the league than they might think.

Nerves. It’s a “Once bitten twice shy” feel. We all remember a few years ago, we all remember the jokes which have been shoved down our throats every single day since.

There’s confidence in the squad like I’ve not seen before but given what Chelsea did to us a few years ago most know it can change in just one result.

I wouldn’t say demanding trophies, we all want the big prize but if Klopp didn’t win anything this season you won’t be seeing the fans turn on him. It would be on to next season.
