Haha. Absolute classic on the echo online today. They actually have a piece on how terrible it was the wolves fans sung “sign on” and “ feed the scousers” last night, and that it could be heard on telly, and that Birmingham has a higher unemployed rate, and - my personal favourite - they look stupid because Connor Cody is from Liverpool. Poor little ducks. Your heart bleeds for them. What have they ever done to anyone. Stand by for the next petition. What a horrible, contrite club that really is.

Has anyone seen the legendary Scouse humour recently? The Echo is absolutely shite. Sniffing around City's site looking for available seats (can't even sell this out etc) for their fans (probably), but whinge like a baby at feed the Scousers...
Poor form.

Against us it was wide lines and tall grass.

Against Wolves it was the wind.

Poor form.

As bad as the pisscan endorsing the "years" banner at the swamp, then outraged to high heaven, when we erected the "Welcome to Manchester" poster for Carlos.

Two sides of the same coin.

When it isn't your first team who lose it isn't usually a significant blow to morale. There are two small benefits to them losing that game from City's point of view: one is that it damages confidence, and the other is that it is a good team that City won't have to play. But they are well outweighed by their fewer fixtures.

So far we've been very lucky with cup draws that allow us to field a second string, but that won't last. What we don't want is to go into the last month or so of the season with a whole pile of big, demanding games (CL semis/final, FA Cup semis/final, rearranged league fixtures) whilst they have fewer, less demanding fixtures. If things are close that could give them the edge.
In the voice of John McEnroe "You can not be serious"

Shearer didn’t exactly criticise Klippety; it’s more the players that he laid into:

Its against the law (particularly on the BBC) to criticise the scousers.
They all get offended very quickly and start protest groups / pressure groups / justice groups to hound anyone who has the audacity to do so out of their job. If it would have been Pep making 9 changes and getting beat you would never hear the end of it.
