I don't think there's a single Blue who thinks it's done and dusted, not one. As supporters we've been through the grinder on numerous occasions, sunk to the murky depths of lower league status, and yet we stayed loyal to the club we love. We are grounded in reality, so whilst being one point ahead at the beginning of March is nice, the marathon isn't over yet - there's many a slip 'tween cup and lip.
What will be interesting is seeing how the dippers handle the intense pressure of the run-in. We are both going to be under the microscope for the remainder of the season, every misplaced pass, every shot at goal, every free kick from now on, each one could possibly have devastating consequences for the eventual losers. So for me it may come down to the mentality of our respective managers. Klopp has neither the mental strength or the footballing nous to see it through, as we've all recently witnessed. There have been tell-tale signs that he's becoming dangerously unhinged - for a second yesterday I honestly thought he was going to thump the kid who was clapping him. It would not have come as any great surprise if he had. He's got that haunted look of increasing self-doubt that he tries to hide with a cheery grin and media-friendly quip, but beneath it is a man who is struggling, a man on the edge. Reminds me very much of Peg in his final weeks at the swamp.
Whereas Pep on the other hand, is calmness personified. He is strong and confident, a natural leader, as opposed to someone who has had leadership thrust upon him.
No, the title is not a foregone conclusion (Ricky Gervais pun intended), but I know who my money is on come end of season.
