I love their delusion. There’s no doubt they were the better side second half yesterday but only because we used it as a fitness exercise, that’s not an excuse, it was clear as day for everybody to see, we had players literally on their arses and ready made replacements on the bench and still didn’t use them. if we had utilised our subs to keep our game at the highest tempo possible as Liverpool choose too, the second half would have been very similar to the first if not more dominant for us given its widely accepted our depth is greater than theirs.
Their inability to see this or refusal to accept it (im not sure which it is with them) is amazing. they’re all just acting as if the first half didn’t happen and the second half was all the evidence you needed that they’re just as good if not better than us. Not that I’d take too much from that game anyway for the season ahead but if I was unfortunate enough to be a Liverpool fan I’d be more concerned with their first half performance and how easily they were taken apart at times without City ever really getting into 3rd gear than their better fitness levels.
