cant blame Klopp, they are desperate to win the league ,if I was in his shoes id do exactly the same
I can understand why Klopp is looking at fielding a young team, but the media support for Klopp would not be there for Pep if he did the same.

Why do you understand what Klopp is doing ? he agreed as did every other prem manager at the start of the season that if a replay was needed it would be played during that week. Further, even if he is right that his squad should have a break, why does he need one ?
The man is a narcissistic wanker.

Because he wants to win the PL and CL and does not give two hoots about the FA Cup and League Cup. However, Klopp is being very disrespectful to Shrewsbury by not turning up for the replay and is bang out of order.

Plus the maximum number of replays that a Premier League, or even Championship, team can have in the domestic cups is two. In the FA Cup they can only have replays in the 3rd and 4th round and the League Cup doesn't have replays or extra time in any round. So one FA Cup replay for poor Littlewoods FC - the same as Southampton and one less than both Spurs and Newcastle.

I suppose I understand you have the pitchforks out for Klopp hatred over his complaints about the fixtures, as anything LFC on here is inherently abhorrent. But what I find curious is probably the person closest to Klopp on this thinking is probably...well, Pep, no?

I sympathize with the smaller clubs though. Well there's some highly paid business school graduates in the FA and Premiere League that should be able to figure this out--all soccer entities, FIFA included need to sit down and figure this scheduling thing out, they should do what they're paid to. Truth is I've never really sympathized with the fixture congestion argument because well, use your squad! I'm sympathetic to the argument that football exists outside of the Champions League clubs.

Reforming the League Cup is low hanging fruit.

Being completely objective and I’ve actually agreed with a Scouser at work who is as biased as I usually am, if not worse.

I don’t begrudge a manager playing any player he has at his disposal, I didn’t even blame Klopp for choosing the Club World Cup over the League Cup and Liverpool putting a side out still was good enough for me, at least they honoured both fixtures with it being a difficult choice.

But this is both bizarre and incredibly poor in terms of respect. I wouldn’t give a shit if he played 11 teenagers but he’s the bloody manager and he doesn’t need physical rest.

He basically just fancies the holiday and well, the FA Cup can sod off as long as he wins the league.

Klopp can put out whatever team he wants for me - he’s hardly the first manager to field a weakened side in the FA Cup - but what grates my gears is that he isn’t even going to take charge of the team on the night. Change your players by all means but don’t change your manager!
