This gem from the Telegraph - "Virgil Van Dijk’s ascent to likely Ballon D’or winner is even more impressive when you consider he hasn't really had a settled centre-back partner since joining the club".

Strange, Laporte's had Kompany (17 games), Stones (24 but dropped towards the end of the season) & Otamendi (15 games), as well as not having a natural LB, 3 DMs in front of him, the 2 best fullbacks in the world or the world's best goalkeeper, and he conceded a grand total of 1 more goal. Never heard that argument made for him...
 
And if we'd hung on to the lead we had at Leicester and Newcastle, Demented FC would not have come within Carragher gozzing distance of us! Is there anyone who stands on the Kop who isn't a revisionist of one sort or another?

Not forgetting the classic that if it was two points for a win instead of three the dippers would have won the title. Overlooking of course that it hasn't been two points for a win for 40 years.

to be fair you can see why they hark back to that, its when they were last winning.
