I thought Scholes was far better than Gerrard. Gerrard was a showreel player where as Scholes had more to his game. Scholes was far better than Gerrard in the deeper role and just as threatening on the edge of the box, or breaking into it. Gerrard had a better engine and could go on lung bursting rune, but Scholes was a more intelligent footballer.

Would Gerrard have looked better than Scholes in those United teams? Or was Scholes one of the key parts in making those teams as successful as they were?

Scholes gets a lot of stick on this forum, he has become an easy target due to his media persona, but he was an absolutely fantastic footballer. A major exponent of the tactical foul as well. It has been made into a bit of a running joke in regards to his challenges but he knew exactly what he was doing.

I hadn't thought of Scholes the and that's a decent shout tbf. Very close call, but I'm sticking with my first choice.

Let's be honest Gerrard,Lampard and Scholes were nothing special at international level.

Most of that is down to the Manager's tbh,.

Their was never a system in place to dominate midfield.

No salad,pep has been asked loads of times since he got here and he says the prem every time as it's over 38 games and you have to play 38 finals and the CL is a lot about luck over 7/8 games

In that case it is beholden on us to continue to act in a bizarre fashion and see to it that they don't win a trophy they clearly don't want for another 30 years.
