Not from Liverpool. Irish supporter.
I appreciate your point. We'd have easily swapped places I'm sure but it's not a bad consolation prize.
It's no consolation prize at all for you mate.

The champions league victory over Spurs was as pedestrian as they come. It's six champions league titles for you now. Does that sixth title feel like a consolation prize. Does it fuck. I saw Allison's face after your win over spurs and he looked like he couldn't give a shite about winning the CL.

The whole of the broadcasting media, pundits, fans and footballing fraternity knew Liverpool FC wanted to win the premier league title.

The disappointment etched all over the faces of anyone associated with LFC was plain to see.

The media is full of ex-players predominantly from Liverpool and United. Whilst they can see the genius of Pep with the football played and squad that's been built they would be the main rivals to Liverpool winning a league so boooooo City! United have turned to crap too so ex-united will always want to see them fail so again, booooooo City.
Winning a domestic treble, centurions etc.. isn't recognised as much as it should be which isn't right. Maybe because of the massive investment since Sheikh Mansoor purchased the club, City are almost expected to win competitions all over the place so something really special has to happen before a lot of people are impressed. I was way more impressed with the Centurion accomplishment myself and that got good coverage I thought. I applauded it anyway. The domestic treble was a first also but not as impressive. They were relatively easy routes to the final and City were never expected to be really challenged in any fixture. Swansea put up a good fight and there's a whole other debate in that but the domestic treble as well as accumulating 98pts with the pressure from Liverpool to the last day.....fantastic.
The City fan base is growing as success on the pitch continues and it'll take a bit of time to catch up with Pool/Utd but in time there'll be a greater demand for ex-city players in the media which will bring a more balanced view.

Evening Airbag, why would ex United players who are now pundits want City to fail when the Dippers are their main rivals?

I know this to be true 'cos some tosser on SKY told me every day last week what big rivals the Rags n Dippers are, you could say massive even..

If we fail to win the league it opens it up for the Dippers to win thus reducing the Rags lead in the league trophy count.

You don't make any sense ... You sound like your typical dipper, talking shit again...

Oh and easy routes to our 2 cup finals eh?

Difference being if we'd have lost any of our domestic cup ties we'd have been out of the competition whereas you Dippers lost, was it 4 times in the Chumps League and won it ffs...

I read earlier you said City would have been happy to exchange our Premier League win for your Chumps League trophy..

Is that your scouse humour shining through?

Not to worry, a few more seasons and you'll be able to change your allegence to City..

I don't think I said that Bill.

Utd fans don't want Liverpool to win, correct. If Liverpool aren't in the running they don't want City to win. City is the lesser of 2 evils for plenty of Utd fans since Utd are so far ahead in the trophy count....for now.
Yes, Liverpool did what they needed to do to win the Champions League. They lost 4 games but won the competition. I was happy. :-) You may value the league cup or FA cup above the champions League for the reasons mentioned but you'll find few others who'll agree. The final was awful but finals are for winning and not performances.
Are you angry that I was delighted with the Champions League win? Or because of the media?

This post is strange at best.

Liverpool FC have won a High Court battle over a multimillion-pound sponsorship deal with American sportswear giant New Balance.

The club was taken to court over its alleged refusal to honour the terms of its reported £40 million-a-year deal with the company, which expires in May 2020.

Under the terms of the deal, New Balance is entitled to renew its sponsorship if it matches the terms of any competitor’s offer to sponsor Liverpool kit.

But the current European champions, who have been offered a £30 million-a-year five-year deal by Nike, argued that New Balance cannot match Nike’s offer in relation to the marketing and distribution of Liverpool products.

The New Balance offer on marketing was less favourable to Liverpool FC than the Nike offer ... It must follow that Liverpool FC is not obliged to enter into a new agreement with New Balance

Mr Justice Teare

Giving his ruling in London on Friday, Mr Justice Teare ruled in Liverpool’s favour, finding that “the New Balance offer on marketing was less favourable to Liverpool FC than the Nike offer”.

The judge said Nike’s offer to use “global superstar athletes”, such as tennis player Serena Williams and basketball star Lebron James, to promote Liverpool products could not be matched by New Balance.

“It must follow that Liverpool FC is not obliged to enter into a new agreement with New Balance,” Mr Justice Teare said.

New Balance immediately applied for permission to appeal against the judge’s ruling.

Opening New Balance’s case last week, Daniel Oudkerk QC said the key issue was whether New Balance had matched “the material, measurable and matchable terms of a third-party offer”.

Liverpool argued that New Balance has not matched Nike’s offer, which includes a commitment to sell licensed products in “not less than 6,000 stores worldwide, 500 of which shall be Nike-owned”.

But Mr Oudkerk said New Balance has “approximately 40,000-odd retail doors globally”.

In his written case, Mr Oudkerk argued that Liverpool dismissed New Balance’s offer to match terms as the club was “wedded to Nike”, and that “it appears that the club had resolved to reject the New Balance match come what may”.

Guy Morpuss QC, representing the club, argued that the claim was “really an attempt by New Balance to use a matching clause for a purpose for which it was never intended”.

He said New Balance’s contention that it could distribute Liverpool kit to 40,000 stores was “a myth”, adding that the company had “grossly overstated” the number of stores it could distribute to.

“The idea that New Balance would even get football kit into anything close to those 40,000 stores is utterly fanciful,” Mr Morpuss added
.
I’m glad I’m not the guy that drafted or agreed that clause for New Balance.

Litigation is such an exhausting process. My advice to anyone - try and avoid if at all possible.

Hard to argue with much of that.
