I still remember the 1997 FA Cup. And they were a force to be reckoned with when they had the likes of Zola, Vialli, Leboeuf and Di Matteo.
They were a great side back then, one of the few you'd seriously think could lay a glove on the rags arsenal duopoly and possibly the best side to watch in the league. I was born mid eighties and if you'd try to tell me Liverpool were bigger or better than Chelsea as a club as a kid I'd have laughed at you. First thing I can remember them doing of note was a few cups under Houllier.

Be interesting Kaz, to see what the clubs view is to a parade, should we win it. Imagine if they have one and we say, nah, it's too soon and inappropriate. Wouldn't look good, but then again....
Wouldnt surprise me if we did something but as 93.20 says may is too soon , then they all go out to the euros , i am wondering if dave will have a testimonial some time and just parade it in the ground

They're skint mate. They're still working their big splurge on Allison, Van Dijk etc through their accounts and can no longer offset the Coutinho fee against them for FFP. Plus their wage bill is ridiculously high for the overall squad quality, they're paying the likes of Keita the same money as first teamers. Add in no ticket revenue and declining sponsorship money from matchdays and they don't have the money. Henry can invest if he wants but it's no use if they fail FFPR.
If they finish outside European qualification places and no UEFA scrutiny maybe they'll chuck tons of cash in.

Cut the dippers some slack ffs..

It's still mathematically possible for them to win back to back PL's and cement their standing within the game as a 'GREAT' team..

As we all know, to be considered a 'GREAT' team, back to back PL titles are a must..!

I remember the media constantly banging on about it not too long ago...!

Oh my fkin sides...!
It is still very possible for them to reach their third Champions league final in four years and win their second in three years

Maybe. I don't see it. I think Klippety is nearing the end of his cycle so they'll tighten the belts. Even if he isn't, their squad is. The likes of Salah, Mane, Henderson etc just aren't going to be able to continue playing in the same fashion into their 30s.

They must be very badly run if they are skint with the size of their revenues and the value of their worldwide sponsorships. There is no reason why they should fail FFP (which is relaxed at present anyway because of the pandemic)
In the last two seasons they have spent less than West Ham and less than half the money spent by Everton and Spurs (let alone United and City). It can't all be wages. Where has all the money gone?

Amortisation for the most part.
