Presumably big chance he has passed it on to other players in the squad ?
How can the match go ahead.
Well the hammers game went ahead minutes after 2 of the first 11 and the manager got positive tests so it obviously will. The league don’t give a shit. They just need the games to go ahead

As others have mentioned, these international breaks are only likely to lead to more positive tests. Don’t know why they didn’t just do a 4-6 week international period at start and delay season by a few weeks

Not sure it’s particularly wise proceeding with domestic fixtures right now, but to go ahead with meaningless internationals is patently absurd.

I agree Ric that Internationals seem pointless at present. Surely the best way is to miniise the risk and simply remove the travel and risk of exposure.
That said, I am torn about carrying on with domestic games. There needs to be some sembelance of "normality" still surely?
Yes, minimise risk as much as we can but try and carry on. Why stop football, with its ability to create bubbles and test extensively, especially at the top level?
So many of us still have to go about their daily lives.
Kids going to school, NHS staff (doctors/nurses/cleaners), bins need empying, trains and buses need to keep running. Footballers will still get paid whereas the self employed are really being screwed by this.
One or two cases in squads/clubs can hopefully be handled and teams till put out. Obviously if it really goes mad then it may need to be looked at again, but ......
Oh fuck it...I dont know...its a complete nightmare

Particularly when you get so many players as individuals flying back to their home countries in planes full of random well travelled strangers. Once they join their national squads it is more controlled but even then they are coming into contact with people from all over the place.

Not a laughing matter. They all suffer with asthma to begin with.

That's true and seeing as so many liverpool players have underlying health problems, it shocking that the press/media tried so hard to force liverpool and the premier league season to be finished last season.

International games should be stopped until this problem is under control, crazy situation as it is now.

Is it against the law to go to international duty ?
The players are in two bubbles their family and the club now they form another bubble with a load of players from all over the world or different bubbles. What could possibly go wrong ?!

Could a club refuse to release players stating the risk in a pandemic ?

Slightly of topic in here
