I get the rivalry but we really shouldn't laugh at a team losing a 3 year unbeaten home record

No goals in the last four league games; one in the last five, and that was against West Brom, who had just sacked their manager.

Even taking the Palace match into account, it’s eight in their last six games.
And that after having more rest time between games than anybody else, plus an FA cup tie against a school team

I thought that after the way they have played over the last 2 seasons it would eventually blow up in their face. 2 years of high intensity win win football, playing the same 11 is not sustainable. Plus add to that the best defender getting injured (not the 1st team to have that issue) hasn’t helped.
I do think Klopp needed to have a backup for VVD. Bad bad management to depend on one defender.

Their other injuries havent helped but the manager should really have different tactics than relying on the exact same 11 players being available.

They would have had Ruben Dias and Laporte as back up if we hadn’t cottoned onto the hacking in time.

That was a formidable run.

As Martin Tyler said at Anfield during the 0-0 with United " nearly 4 years unbeaten at home in the league - absolutely sensational home form"

Yep, formidable.

Now since the start of the unbeaten run: P69-W55-D13-L1 Points 178.

But not a match for City home games over the same period: P69-W58-D6-L5 POINTS 180.

I'd say that was fourmidable. Like 18/19 the number of Wins Win Leagues.

That’s what pissed me off about them last season. Virtually same 11 every week and hardly any injuries. They were unstoppable last season but the pace has caught up with them and so has the luck they had on VAR

Wow!

Remember when thiago was announced and everybody was saying how he makes Liverpool miles better because they won't play with 3 clogged and they'll be able to break down teams that defend their box? Not going so well that is it? No room for counters and teams are learning to defend their admittedly dangerous relentless crosses into the back post. They've got nothing else and you can't blame the loss of VVD on them not scoring goals.

Happy as I am I think we should chill a bit. Until recently the situation was reversed, Liverpool were in first place and we thought we were on our way to a fight for the top 4 spot. Everything is changing very fast in this crazy season. Liverpool are still our main rival for the title in my opinion and no matter if United will be top of the league in March I will still think the same. 2-3 games that things will go not as planned for us and they are completely in the picture. On the more positive side - this year we just have to win at Anfield. Liverpool are not in good form, lots of injuries, no fans and we look great. If, and I emphasize if, we reach this game with 7 points difference and it will become 10 maybe it will be possible to take them out of the race

Retaining a title isn’t for everyone

That 2018/19 title win with 98 points and Liverpool right up our arse the whole way to the line, and then adding the two cups to be first team to do the domestic treble, really hasn’t been spoken about enough
And we all know the reason why; the colour of our shirts.

Liverpool are a very good side having a dip in form. Their levels have dropped off. Ours have. Tbh a decent title race with multiple teams is more interesting for me than romping it
