Interesting phase of season. Liverpool's top 4 ambitions helped out by us beating West Ham, and even more importantly Arsenal killing Leicester (who lost Barnes for season). Liverpool will also hope - albeit secretly that United win or draw v Chelsea. A Chelsea win could set up a nasty sequence: pressure on tonight to beat Sheffield who'll fancy getting at their back 4 and stand-in keeper, then a must win v Chelsea at Anfield.

Is everyone over-egging their demise? A few wins and they'll back in the top four picture. To be honest, as a country, England need Liverpool in the CL - the most successful English club in the history of the competition with a fan base that is knowledgeable about the competition and bring everything you need in a fan base. The CL is poorer when a European giant such as Liverpool is missing from it......they really are European royalty.....
