3 minutes into the new season - penalty

3 minutes to go in the opening game where they need a winner - penalty

Is it too early for my Spidey-senses to be tingling?

Reminded me of when City played Southampton at the beginning of the 12-13 season, plucky newly promoted team gives the newly crowned champions a rough ride. We finished a country mile behind the rags that year and you could tell things weren’t right straight from the off and was compounded with our dealings in the transfer market. Our chums in Merseyside will learn this year and it’s going to be enjoyable watching it turn to shit and the excuses come out.

If that was our result our defence would have been slaughtered by the media
Shhh.

The last thing we want is the media pointing out their flaws. Let them think everything is fine and dandy, that way they won't feel the need to address their shortcomings.

Look how much Van Dyke has bought into his own media created hype. He's become a legend in his own lunchtime.

'Sloppy City need a brace of penalties to squeeze past newly promoted Leeds in opening day shocker'

Their most expensive centre back made to look like a mug by Journeyman, Championship standard forward Bamford..!

Serious questions need to be asked regarding..

Where's all the money gone?

Why haven't they installed big screens in their stadium?

They cannot be expected to be bailed out by VAR yet again, surely they need to stand on their own two feet this season?

To lighten the mood, please feel free to have a go at our new quiz feature for the coming season..

Why we should all hate City.. choose from..

1.Oil
2. Dodgy owners
3. No history
4. FFP cheats....

127. They play in blue

Cnuts..!

I think it's fair to say that we're pretty much all in agreement now that clubs like Liverpool* and the rags are refereed differently than we are.

So when you think about the adversity we have to go through to win a game of football it should be us who bleat on about "this means more".

If I was a fan of Liverpool* or the rags (just thrown up a little bit in my mouth) I would be embarrassed if we couldn't win off our own merit and without the help of VAR and other manipulative devices.

Hard to gauge much from the first match but it was encouraging to see Liverpools defence starting so poorly.
The key to there season will be, as always, how their front three perform. Hopefully fatigue will kick in and the lack of rotation will catch up with them.

With regards the pens the second was pretty clear cut so no complaints there. We need to go out against Wolves and set a marker down.

What about the first penalty? The Leeds non penalty?

The key to the season will once again be VAR/PiGMOB.

Thought the first one looked clear enough too.

Edit - hmm, the wording is a bit convoluted but his arm made him bigger which is handball.

Why not talk about the 1st pen Pidge?

Did not see the Leeds non-pen but Liverpools first one I dont think was a pen, but would have to read more around the ruling to be 100 percent sure.

Don't agree with your last paragraph. If we sort out the defence, cut out mistakes and become more resilient when things are going against us, that will be the key to our success.

I saw that, and had to mute the sound, but what made me puke was that It then showed David James, of all people, grinning broadly and holding up a red & white scarf with"LIVERPOOL" emblazoned on it.
What stage in the proceedings is it played so l can avoid it completely? I thought there was no audience?

Is that right mate? I am not a 100 percent up on the ruling for this situation.

Ball to arm when the arm is in a 'making bigger' position is handball, I think, regardless of ricochet.

A simple ricochet such as a sliced clearance is not handball, but the law seems to have an order of precedence as far as I can tell.

Some people create multiple accounts.

Yeah you made that accusation last time. A moderator told you that you were incorrect, and yet here you go again. Its all a bit pointless to be honest.

If you want to discuss football fine, and even if you wish to disagree with me, go ahead. But lets not drag the discussion down to name calling and false accusations.

OK pidge.

Honestly cannot see Liverpool retaining the championship. They dont (yet) have a deep enough squad and the relentless pressure from the media will eventually be thier undoing. Klopp will have an explosion of epic proportions in a post match presser at some point and injuries will play a big part in the season.

If we can sort out our defence, we will be in with a shout.

Let's see how Chelsea get on later...

Thanks for that. Seems a harsh ruling as I would imagine the number of times a goal would have resulted from a ricochet which then hits a hand in a ‘unnatural position’ will be dwarfed by the goals scored by the award or a penalty for an unintentional act.
