I hate to say it but the recruitment of Thiago Alcantara is a masterstroke ! How come we have not made any bid, him and Keven in the midfield would have been immense ! 30 MM£ in this day and age is an excellent deal given the indisputable quality of the player.

I don’t know if you know the lad who’s posted that but I will bet you any sum of money you care to mention that he’s a) never been to Anfield and b) is from nowhere near Liverpool. as proven by him in my draft fantasy team last season. He'll sit on their bench nicely though and chip with a few goals and assists but it's hardly Sancho or Werner.

Tolmie says we had the chance to sign him but decided we didn't need him with the players we have in midfield.

As much as I rate Phil, I reckon we need a seasoned and composed world class midfielder like Alcantara. Phil would still feature in a load of games notwithstanding.
