As much as i despise the Dippers,confirmed by my pleasure in seeing Arsenal beat them last night,i hope,if true,the players who test positive quickly recover.

Wow, I wouldn't have known. Went on the BBC football website twice today. Read every headline. Absolutely no sign of this story. (Okay, I read it again and it is there. But focusing on Arsenal of course. Which would be fair enough, but every other story uses the Liverpool name for clicks, until it's bad news).

But surprise, surprise, Liverpool go out of the cups again. Almost like it's the plan of a small time club that know they can't compete for every competition.

2 face Klopp obviously doesn't care about the Carabao based on his line-ups. He didn't use his first team. Now they crash out, they have less games to play.

I mean he wasn't playing a full strength side, but he still started Salah and Van Dijk. And it's not as if Arsenal were full strength.

I hope he rumour of their players testing positive for covid is wrong but if it is correct and they are positive it will be interesting to see how (if) the authorities accommodate their favourite cash cow to ensure they can put out a full strength team for every game

Season will be put on hold. Or is it a ruse by the morally bankrupt dippers so none of their players have to go on international duty? Or maybe I'm just a cynical old sod.

There's no easier season to win the League Cup. Early rounds took place when European competitions haven't started. The Quarter Finals are now not until December and the Semi Finals in January will just be the one leg.

The bloke is a deluded tosser. It just demonstrates that it is a great testament to City that we won the domestic treble during a normal fixture packed season.

This has gone way beyond negotiating good deals, something is just not adding up! Top quality players have been sold for similar prices this window - Semedo, Alcantara, Dest etc. there is no way, absolutely no way that Brewster would be valued at 23m, there's something diabolical going on here and since we are now in the footballing cold war / espionage era (certain clubs having de spigel do the dirty on us, hacking our transfer system, having hackers look through our sponsorship, external influence on the CAS, hateful eight having clandestine meetings to sabotage us) I think its time we get into the mud ourselves and fight back. We have the capacity and network to shake up some trees and then see what falls. These transfers need to be looked into. No way clubs keep paying silly money for the likes of Solanke, Brewster while they keep "striking gold" by paying paltry amounts for reputable players. Lots of under the table movements here and it needs to be looked into and exposed........not by us of course!

If the rumours are true then I think its a case of simply playing the players we have available. No matter of age or experience.
Otherwise I think that what happened to Orient should happen to Liverpool.
If you cannot fulfil the fixture then forfeit the tie or the points.
OK it is the prem as opposed to the cups but there should be continuity.

If it wasn't Liverpool though, would you be looking at any of these deals and thinking they are overpriced in the current market ? Wilson performed well at Bournemouth, Grujic the same at Hertha, Xhaqiri is a Swiss international (and even then the sale is really just recouping the original purchase price). Brewster is both the highest priced compared to his experience but also the player with perhaps the highest potential - the lost year to injury set him back at a crucial time in his career.

Each of them have years left on their contracts, meaning it's not just a question of having to take what you can get to stop them leaving on a free in a few months.
