Is he the 1st player to ever get injured for a substantial amount of time by another players bollocks? I didn't watch the game so was expecting a savage 2 footed challenge. Then I saw it and its definitely pickfords nuts that make contact.

Disgraceful this from Keith Hackett, thought it was a parody account at first.

Never in all my years of watching football has this much scrutiny and outrage erupted over an injury.

Yes it was a poor challenge and he deserved to see red, but the aftermath with threats, accusations and even comments about Pickfords mental health from ex pros, journos and pundits is an utter disgrace.

Everton should make a statement and threaten to sue

Good grief. I wonder if Haaland's injury got this much attention, and that actually ended his career. Or Cech. He could have been killed but I don't recall Chelsea fans shitting their pants over it.

ETA: I really doubt Pickford hates Liverpool that much, the team he hates the most is Newcastle and the feeling is mutual, believe me. Their fans give him endless grief whenever we play them.

Anyone remember this...

"In 1996, Ruddock's tackle on Andrew Cole of Manchester United in a reserve game at Anfield left the player with two broken legs, and Ruddock claimed innocence, while Cole said he believed Ruddock did not intend harm. However, in a 2010 interview with Talksport, he jokingly refers to the incident as "not big, and not clever", adding "but it was great", and that "I didn't mean to break both of his legs if I'm honest, I only meant to break one". truly ashamed of nothing offended by everything.

Wijnaldum is the latest one to give his thoughts to the bbc. He says none of the Liverpool players slept on Saturday night because of what happened.

What a bunch of cockwombles they really are.

Salbutamol withdrawals probably.

Five Live banging on about it - well Kelly Cates is presenting so no surprise there - almost insinuating Pickford's challenge on the greatest bestest ever player was deliberate - the way it looked to me he was doing that starfish thing like Schmeichel started to spread yourself to try and block and there was a coming together.

Did they not sleep well as they feared their homes being robbed by the lovely scousers in their next away chumps game

Probably reading the same brief from their PR department Danny Murphy used on Talkshite Monday morning.

I wonder if our players all had sleepless nights when Gomes' leg got broken.

I guess they must all be having withdrawal symptoms. Poor little babies.
