Not trying to make any excuses for Liverpool’s recent results but that news about Klopp’s mum puts a bit of a different perspective on things and maybe had an impact of sorts. I know their form started faltering a few weeks before she passed away on 19th Jan but since then it can’t have been easy for him to concentrate 100% on the job in hand and some of that could’ve seeped through to their players.
Well said, I felt for him when I heard about that.

As someone else has just said, Rodri & Fernandinho struggled at the back at times for you last season. Doesn’t make them bad players but it shows how hard some positions are to cover, especially for extended periods.
Rodders barely played as cb , dinho was the one and considering his age he did well, the others interchange and we are very fluid , you clearly havent followed pep as a manager , he sorts every problem out ,good managers do that

Since the Deloitte Football Money League 2021 revealed Liverpool have overtaken City by a small margin for 5th placed highest revenue, I suppose the test will come in the summer.

City do need to spend on a CF and finding Aguero's replacement wont come cheap. Mendy could be moved on(he's had 4 years) and Fernandinho might think it's one season to many at this level which would leave us too reliant on Rodi for that role.

Liverpool look like the need to spend in a number of positions for squad depth. Defence and upfront.

It's all well and good saying FSG don't take a penny but if the club is making just as much and not spending it,when they need to just as much: What other reason could it be, than the owners not allowing the club to spend it?

It's not just keeping up with City they have to worry about. United have spent a billion in 7 years and they still haven't finished their current rebuild(how long have they been building this one?). They will look to add another top CB to pair with £80m Maguire and possibly use Cavani's impact as an excuse to justify the outlay on a new top CF to challenge Rashford. Chelsea will spend again if they need to as well, although I expect the players they bought this season to fair better after a season of bedding in too.

Neither City or Liverpool would want either of them clubs to close the gap too much. Even though the broadcasters would love it.

We won’t buy any big name forwards this summer unless we sell one of the front three for big money. The already apportioned money will be for a centre half, a right back & a budget forward to replace Origi. Maybe a cheaper range midfielder too if Wijnaldum leaves as Jones will take his place and one can come in to boost the numbers.
Look at the prize money alone we’ve won in the last two years and that’s before anything else. They’re having the kecks off us but their fanboys won’t hear a word against them. As for their financial motives, the line we hear is living within our means. That’s fine, but we know that we’re not skint comparatively speaking. They’re cunts and that’s the bottom line.

But don't take all night, I have things to do
Nearly every player we have in our squad has been injured or is currently injured this season. As I explained above, footballers and their positions aren’t totally interchangeable. Therefore players playing out of position won’t always have the same effect as the other lads. It’s not a hard concept to grasp which is why you seeking clarification is rather baffling. And an injury list that doesn’t diminish considerably, especially with key positions, this has a knock on effect on the pitch.
I have a question for you; have you ever played competitive football? If the answer’s yes, it’s madness that we’re having this conversation. If not, fair enough.

So Firmino, Robertson and Wijnaldum have been injured but managed to play all 23 matches. And Salah has missed one. And TAA only two, and Mane has missed three, Henderson and Alisson four. Fabinho five. That's nine players who have missed nineteen matches between them.

We've played 22 matches. Aguero has missed 17, De Bruyne 5, Ederson 2, Walker 7, Gundogan 5,

Let’s hope that one of those U23s who was involved in such a famous victory one day makes it into your first team. Or even on the bench.
You mean like Tommy Doyle last night you whopper

I played and managed but not at too high a level. For your information , in the 7-2 game Harwood-Bellis, Bernabe Gomes, Palmer, Tommy Doyle, Delap, and Felix Nmecha all played. All have played in the first team and all teenagers. Your keeper was the Kelleher who was older than every single member of the City squad. Next question
