I posted on a totally different social media page about how embarrassing for Liverpool to celebrate like they just won the Champions League by overcoming the mighty WBA with the last kick of the match via an own goal. The vitriol from Liverpool fans was incredible. Must post things like that more often, they are obviously panicking.

I despise Liverpool as much as anyone else on here. Especially their weird breed of fans.
But that goal gave a top 4 finish in their own hands. And we all know how much money is involved in qualifying for the Chimps League. Therefore I find no embarrassment in the way they celebrated a last minute goal by their goalkeeper and the consequences that go with it.

Now I just hope they still finish outside the top 4.

I hate Liverpool as much as anyone, but couldn't help smile at Allison scoring that goal. He’s been through such an awful couple of months with his dad passing away in such tragic circumstances and then not even being able to go to the funeral.

Surely VAR was brought in to correct clear and obvious errors such as Dean today clearly not knowing the rules and awarding Liverpool a free kick instead of a drop ball??

It's nothing close to VAR's remit. VAR doesn't correct throws given the wrong way, and this is just an error.

I thought if the error led to a goal then it was overturned, but otherwise no. Not that I’m remotely an expert!

There may be some very specific scenario but I don't know of it ( a quick free-kick, maybe?), but a corner given incorrectly wouldn't be reviewed if it led to a goal and that's far closer to this error.
