“You shouldn’t use the deaths of people to get back at another club on any level so when you hear certain chants, or read things on social media, you want to come back with the facts."

luckily for liverpool, they've never sung anything ever about munich. i wish every fan base could be as perfect as they are.
Shaun Ryder and Bez once came on for an impromptu appearance at the end of a The Farm concert in about 1993, and I will repeat here what he said into the mic as Hootan and the rest of his cronies left the stage...

"Scouse Cunts!"

The worst phrase in that interview is: "As a Liverpool fan I don't feel any culpability at all." That's an incredible thing for anyone to say. He admits the panic was started by LFC fans firing flares and 14 of them were eventually jailed for manslaughter. If my fellow City fans had done that I would feel shame and remorse which is a natural response.
We all watched it live and unedited on the Belgian TV feed. The Liverpool fans attacked again and again armed with metal bars and throwing missiles. They were attacking fans in a neutral section (not the Juve ultras who were at the other end). The LFC fans could clearly see that they were attacking neutral fans, lots of families, lots of women, people in suits not football colours. Everyone knew there had been fatalities when the match kicked off. Is Peter Hooton in denial or is he just a psychopath with no feelings?

It's always someone else's fault.

Despicable article.

Basically says it wasn't the fault of Liverpool fans for behaving like feral animals at the stadium, it was the fault of the police, for not preventing them attacking the Juventus fans. And it was the fault of the authorities, for choosing that stadium. And of other authorities, for giving the safety certificate.

Nobody should use the loss of human life as a means to taunt other supporters. Ok Liverpool fans, does that include Steaua Bucharest banners?

While we are discussing Heysel, please remember that the kick off was delayed. Uefa discussed calling the match off but they and the police were so fearful of what the scousers would do if it was, decided to play it that night.
As they removed the dead and injured a football match took place because the authorities feared far worse would happen.

Considering every April 15th ( or matchday closest to it ) we are forced to have a minutes silence for the victims of hillsbourgh while Heysel is generally ignored due in part because the English football season has ended. Now that the dippers are having their victory parade on the 29th shouldn't the media not pressure the club to have a minutes silence or a set of prayers said prior to their parade on the exact remembrance day

The irony of this. We don’t matter, yet he pens a 4 paragraph rant about us. Fucking idiot.

On both sides of the coin it all comes down to no one caring about city.

For other fans, even for their most hated local rivals, it doesn't matter at all that city win the league, because every person bar the abu dhabi twitter bots know why they win the league, and know the day the sheikhs ride into the sunset that city won't even exist. It's so, so easy to dismiss. They're a complete irrelevance.

And for city it's that desperation for people to care, to be hated or respected in the way we are. But it's never going to happen. They could win the next 20 leagues and no one will care because everyone knows what its built on. When Chelsea got their money, they kind of became a supercharged version of themselves - it all kind of fitted. City have even more money, but they've just become a completely different entity, unrecognizable from what they really are. And a really strange entity at that, with a brilliant but uncomfortable man at the helm.

When I see Pep talking about Colin Bell or Mike Sumerbee I just laugh. There isn't a single chance he knew or cared for Man City's history prior to them offering him wheelbarrows full of cash. It's so false and akward. But admitting what they are - what they really are - is even more unpleasant. They'll never, ever have any respect because they'll never matter.

Someone should tell the thick twat that Pep must've known or cared about our history to a certain extent, considering he had a trial with us when Pearce was our manager! Which equates to more of a connection to our club than Klopp had before he joined Liverpool.

As for no-one caring about us, the lack of self-awareness in that comment is off the scale. And we don't need any respect from clueless plastic cunts like you sunshine, but I bet you were one of the millions of non-United supporting football fans who cheered like fuck when Aguerooooooooo scored THAT goal in 2012 you dense prick!

Yeah. Doesn't come over well at all. Was pretty shocked at it myself.

I'm not scouse nor am I old enough to remember Heysel, but a quick bit of research will give you enough info to draw your own conclusions, which is the same as yours.

To say that a stadium is to blame is like driving a car into a tree and blaming the car for not being up to scratch when everyone gets killed.

I can't think of a single situation where a stadium should be designed to cope with mental fans savaging other fans. Yes plan for worst case etc but....

Extremely shameful part of LFC's history and no, I can't answer why its not acknowledged more.
