Read the second bit. Southampton had set themselves up for not getting beat heavily and if they had a real go they would of gotten ripped apart. They did to us at the Etihad and got a point (including having a penalty ruled out by VAR)
Was they losing to City ?????? So me get it right there whole ambition from 70 minutes onwards was to keep the score to 2-1 ????? Fook thank fook I don’t bother supporting a teams whole ambition is a 2-1 loss

No mention of the missed pen by Mahrez in the 86th minute of the first match which finished 0-0.
No, not mentioned at all, funnily enough.
Imagine, if we'd have lost the league that year? Given that we're still waiting for that ball to return to Earth-orbit, maybe we could have asked for a 'Worst Runners-up ever medal", having come second by the longest distance.

Back in the early 80s a mate of mine lived near a house in Radcliffe that was owned by a dipper. The whole house on the outside was painted red and white and there was a ‘This is Anfield’ plaque by the front door. They’ve always been a weird bunch.
A mate of mine had a near death experince,he went to heaven for half an hour, and in a beautiful valley was a house painted sky blue and white it had City banners draping the walls, sky blue and white smoke coming from the chimney pots,Blue Moon blaring from all the open windows and there was a golden plaque on the door which read.
'This Is Gods House'
;)

That is down to half the premier teams as well whosw sole purpose is to keep up. That means put effort vs teams they are confident in nicking the points with plenty of timewas or damage limitation with more of the same,

They put huge efforts in against City so why not the same against an under strength Liverpool .......... I know plenty had a go at the way they set up and I can understand it ........... but surly with 20 minutes to go at 2-1 down you try to get something out of the match ??????? Honestly if I was a Saints fan I would have been foaming at that ...........if with 20 odd minutes to go they would have put Liverpool on the back foot and maybe Liverpool may have retreated and just see the game out .......... sadly the Saints just sat there and let Liverpool do what they want and mark my word with him in charge there only hope is that the 3 coming up are as poor as them if not then they really are in bother next season ..........

Not much difference to be honest between the two league performances. We struggled to break them down and they (Liverpool) nicked two goals despite Southampton taking the lead. Our away performance was a game of two halves culminating with us not getting a penalty in the second half and a red card challenge by Stuart Armstrong which was convienently ignored and we should of gotten the 3 points in that.

When we played them in January they were in the middle of a run of 13 games where they only got beaten once.

They're now in a run where they've won just one of their last 12 matches.

Obviously form doesn't override everything, but it would have been a major shock if they'd got out of that rut against Liverpool.
