Honestly, as others have said, it's like the British media are massively over-compensating for the lies and slurs The Sun printed about Hillsborough all those years ago. Instead of trying to be balanced, Holt has gone all in by insinuating that not a single Liverpool fan did anything wrong.

And as it happens Oliver, I have been involved in something similar outside a stadium before. Once in Madrid in 2016, and once in 2012 at the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg. Ironically outside Anfield when thousands of City fans didn't get in until well into the first half and there was a crush outside that left some younger fans in tears. There had been a fatal RTA on the motorway en route to the game, which meant loads of blues arrived just before kick-off. Not that Miseryside Police gave a shit - according to them it was our fault for turning up so late. Not to mention that clueless **** Alan Green on 5 Live who claimed City hadn't sold their allocation when half our fans were stuck outside trying to get in. Despite all that, there was absolutely fuck-all in the newspapers the following day,
it was worse than that, Liverpool only opened 2 turnstiles so it made things 10x as bad - Merseyside plod and stewards standing around smirking whilst people were getting crushed.

So we get Slammed in the media for days for the "booing" of the minutes silence at wembley & the club appologise straight away (even though its not really proved what happened),
We get Slammed in the media for days for the "Attack" on the villa goal keeper when the club again appologised straight away (& it was hard to see if the attack actually happened)
The dippers get complete & utter media sympathy even though there is genuine evidence to show they had a manager who urged them to go without tickets, they travelled in large numbers without tickets, had large numbers of fake tickets, climbed over fences, pushed over barriers, ran past security & boasted about being inside the ground without tickets & rather than issue a appolgy the club ask for a enquiry?
You really could not make this shit up!

You think looking back at that, the Football Association should have had reservations about holding a game there. Specially with the ground having no safety certificate in April 1989. How the likes of Graham Kelly got away with it on top of South Yorkshire Police is shocking
It really was a disaster in the making for years and anyone, including myself, who attended a big match in that end of the stadium, knew it was a death trap. There was no method for controlling how many people went into each pen.

The people who are roundly criticising the actions of the French police against innocent fans with bona fide tickets have no idea of the reasoning behind that approach, but it’s likely down to the number of attendees without legitimate tickets, some of whom were already in the stadium.

In fact, I’d be amazed if that wasn’t the case.
I think that they are trying to paint the picture that there could have been a crush at the perimeter fences, rather than in the stadium.

That being said, whilst it was ongoing, they must have thought, hang on a minute, we’ve been in this kind of situation before…

Wet Jeremy Vine presently letting the victim twats get their excuses in first. Some cockney Liverpool fan who clearly doesn't know what the **** natives are like moaning about how scary it was.
