I think if anything the authorities in France avoided a similar tragedy. Look at the crowded aisles in the Liverpool areas of the stadium. And were they expected to just let in the Liverpool fans regardless of the eligibility of their tickets. They delayed the kick off for a reason - had the same thing happened at Hillsborough we may have had less fatalities. The whole thing sounds of sour grapes because they lost.

I think this is actually spot on.

Having seen more evidence and hearing the French Ministers speak, I actually think the police saved lives.

I was highly critical of them when the heavy handed footage came out but their tactic was to stop fans moving forward and causing danger.

The scousers should be punished by UEFA and Liverpool football club owe the authorities a thank you and an apology.

40,000 without real tickets would be definite fatalities in the stadium.

Ignore the sycophants in the media who are looking for a pat on the back from Liverpool fans.
I agree. I think they got the big decisions right in Paris:
1) Delaying the kick-off twice, for a huge televised game.
2) Tightening control of the stadium perimeter when it became clear there were large scale attempts to breach it.

While there were individual incidents by Police and security staff that were unaccceptable, the top level management of the situation was good.

If I was the editor of Marca I'd have a picture of Real Celebrating. Next to a picture of sad Liverpool players with the Spanish version of "Fuck em!" as the headline.

When they prove there were thousands of fake tickets and dispel this scouse myth they're creating I wonder how the scousers will turn the fake ticket debacle into a UEFA problem and not one of their own making. This wasn't Liverpool fans unwittingly buying fakes and beigg scammed as they'll inevitably claim, the overwhelming majority knew full well they were fake but having a fake gets them through the first few checkpoints and gives them an opportunity and a justification in their mind to attempt to jib in.

Well done to the French and UEFA for not accepting this bullshit. I hope they come down hard on Liverpool, there needs to be a deterrent, they did this when they played spurs a few years back, it's escalated considerably this time, what happens next time they reach a major final and they try it again? They won't stop until there's serious punishment or there's a fatality.

Kaveh Calpol talking utter shite on SSN just now.

  • First of all, he was at the Liverpool end of the ground the whole time and didn’t see any bad behaviour from them
  • Then, he was at the Real Madrid end and at the first security checkpoint witnessing Madrid fans being mugged
  • At the Madrid end, people were taking photos of other supporters’ Qr codes - sorry but if I have a digital ticket on my phone, I don’t stand in a queue with it on the screen. My phone is in my pocket until I get to the turnstile
  • Then he was back at the Liverpool end and not one Liverpool fan came to him to say they had a fake ticket - why the fuck would someone with a fake ticket go and tell Sky Sports News that they’ve tried to enter the stadium by fraudulent means?
  • He must’ve been the only person freely walking around and not having to wait to gain entry
Everyone else stuck for two hours but he manages to walk from end to end!!
Not saying it was the fans fault or not…..but you can see which so called journos are dippers so easily now
Made their minds up without any facts and so aggressive with ‘the truth’
