This is where its gonna get amusing. They harp on about their net spend but if you want to replace an aging squad and still compete its gonna cost them a fortune. Salah and Mane were absolute bargains but that value really doesnt exist in the market now particularly with forwards.
Thats why hopefully Alvarez is such a coup for us but a risk none the less.
And to be fair, Sterling and Jesus have proved to be similar value for us with a combined fee of £67 million and contributing much to our incredible achievements

Was looking at a comparison of our squads and assuming our remaining business is Cucurella and Phillips in with Jesus out, that leaves us pretty balanced at 2 players per position. They on the other hand have 7 defenders, 8 midfielders, and 5 forwards (assuming Minamino and Mane are sold with Nunez coming in).

Fabinho, Keita, Thiago, Henderson, Chamberlain, Jones, Elliott, Milner seems a bit much unless one of them is leaving. Then Firmino and Salah both out of contract next summer (along with Keita and Chamberlain) has me thinking they’ll be spending big on another forward next summer, possibly a midfielder as well. No clue on any incomings rumors for them other than Nunez, but with the size of the squad I’d think they’d want to shift a few first.

Thanks for responding, I,d like to think most on here would post in a similar vein if there wasn't such frustration at the nonsense levelled at us as a club and fanbase from all and sundry.

It nice to hear an acceptance that you have an element of -

complete wankers/fuckwits/cunts (delete as appropriate)
And I cannot deny that at all.

I am right in reading that as acceptance ?

I agree it's a fine line between having a love and faith in the team you support and being completely blinkered.

And therein lies the problem, show me one source that has questioned/probed the narative that Liverpool fans have been harshly treated in Paris, even better a thread on a liverpool forum where decent fans (there has to be more than one, surely :-) ) are calling out the halfwits.

Just look at the "Apology to the club" thread on here as an example, lots of sympathy by many for a moment of madness, yet just as many holding poor Meldrew to account and that he deseverves all he gets.

Now imagine the uproar on here if our genuine fans had been denied access to a Champions league final by some of our own. Bluemoons finest would have completed an indepth investigation and identified said individuals by now, with a thread on ways to seek retribution.

What you wouldn't see is a circling of the wagons and fingers in our ears while feining outrage at any criticism levelled at us.

In terms of tribalism your describing an individuals possible response/outlook to their team, which is fine if pulled up and called out as needed but when you appear to have a collective inability to think rationally then your open to a fair degree of criticism.
It was indeed an acceptance...lol...I shall get the sackcloth on and walk around my street flagellating myself to try and compensate!

As for the Paris incident, there was more than enough media initially detailing, or claiming to detail what had gone on and how it was the "fault" of the fans. I was actually out and about in the immediate lead up to the game and so was listening on the radio. Just making it home in time for kick off. But from what I was hearing there it did seem odd that gates/check points or perimeters were not being opened. But then not being there and on the ground it is impossible for me to know what the reasons were for not doing that or even knowing what was meant to happen.
For me, my initial thought was that there appeared to be a failure in organisation. Thinking that surely there must have been 2 or 3 check points allowing for filtering out of people who didnt have tickets and just wanted to get close to the ground.. but then that doesnt take account of good quality forgeries.....but (double then) that doesnt explain why in this day and age there just wasnt a case of e-tickets and QR codes etc
However, after that initial news coverage the narrative did change once personal experiences came into it and there may well have been a degree of (self) censorship by the UK media for fear of falling into the "Sun trap"

"Bluemoons finest would have completed an indepth investigation and identified said individuals by now, with a thread on ways to seek retribution."
Yes, I have read many a post on here and appreciate that the usual suggestion is setting fire to them!

As for criticism in general, I actually think it is a good thing. Years ago I recall going for an assessment day for a graduate training post with a major store. I had to pick out a piece of paper that had the word "Criticism" on it. I was then told I now had to give a 10 minute talk to the rest of those present on that word. It certainly made me think about it. There is good and bad, but whatever type it is , then as long as you think about it and take it on board it is all good as makes us all consider our actions and their impact on others.
