Apparently she made some awful remarks about the ghetto/Liverpool when she was in Spain one time. A little worse for wear she stood on a table and screamed about it being a shithole. It seems she absolutely hated the place.
I don't know about the Beatles but as you say they all fucked off down to London once they'd achieved a bit of fame.
