Tbf growing up in South manny we defo identified with being manc more than being English! I'm shocked thst this is such an issue on here as I know loads of mancs thst would say the same thing albeit for different reasons

Tony can identify as anything he likes and can change it daily if he wants. What he can’t change is the country in which he was born. Being born in England makes you primarily English.

Does it say you’re Scouse on your birth certificate Tony? Thought not.

Have to say I was abit baffled by what he was wittering on about.
I suppose, if he is correct that none of you lot on here can call me scouse/plastic scouse anymore, as being from the Wirral, I dont count.

It really does amaze me why people get so uptight about labels of where they are from. Me beign English, my wife Irish and son being born here. We were drving through a "loyalist" area a couple of years back and my son asked which was "his flag", as they had Union flags, NI flags, (madly) Isreali flags aswell as a couple of paramilitary flags.
I replied that they really meant nothing and that he could claim whatever flag he wanted, whether it be Union, NI, Tri colour, or European flag.

Honestly this scouse not English waffle is only ever spouted by red tossers. There club has become so corporate they are desperate to still seem a club in touch with their roots when nothing could be further from the truth. I can honestly see anfield being relocated to London in the future.

I occasionally steel myself and venture onto the RAWK site - just to laugh at how 'up their arse' they are - absolute cult like behaviour - and sooooo entitled.

What is piss funny is that they are soooo desperate to convince themselves that CITY do not matter to them - they spend loads of time and 100s of posts reaffirming that point - irony is so lost on them

But another piss funny thing is that it seems the vast majority of people that post never go to a match - and are not 'scousers' - in fact seemingly have no real association with Liverpool other than their neeed to be a hanger-on to a club that is a long way from where most of them live

Really sad fuckers that have no idea about what being a real fan is about.

It will probably change for us in generations to come - but, in the here and now, I would be confident saying that the vast majority of CITY fans have a deep connection with the club and/or Manchester.

Either they (like me) have been loyal fans for decades and have gone through the 'supporting experience' that those followers would have no experience or understanding of - or they are offspring from such people
