But another piss funny thing is that it seems the vast majority of people that post never go to a match - and are not 'scousers' - in fact seemingly have no real association with Liverpool other than their neeed to be a hanger-on to a club that is a long way from where most of them live

Really sad fuckers that have no idea about what being a real fan is about.

It will probably change for us in generations to come - but, in the here and now, I would be confident saying that the vast majority of CITY fans have a deep connection with the club and/or Manchester.

Either they (like me) have been loyal fans for decades and have gone through the 'supporting experience' that those followers would have no experience or understanding of - or they are offspring from such people

Imagine having Stockholm syndrome for Liverpool football club and wanting to associate yourself with that weird cult when you don’t live there.

It really does amaze me why people get so uptight about labels of where they are from. Me beign English, my wife Irish and son being born here. We were drving through a "loyalist" area a couple of years back and my son asked which was "his flag", as they had Union flags, NI flags, (madly) Isreali flags aswell as a couple of paramilitary flags.
I replied that they really meant nothing and that he could claim whatever flag he wanted, whether it be Union, NI, Tri colour, or European flag.

Normally I give your posts a swerve as you push the red propaganda. Now I find out you are in the North. We have enough red plastic glory hunting pricks over here to last 5 life times. I will happy pay the ferry to send you back to scouseland;)

As for flags, ignore the ignorance. Failte ;)

Thank you so much for your kind offer. I'm afraid it was hard enough getting my wife to move even a few miles out of Derry, there is no way I will get her "back over the water"
Funny thing is that in 20+years over here I have never encountered a non rag supporting taxi driver...or that could just be in Derry.

No mate, don't be silly. It was a long time ago. She was pretty cool and she liked Everton, so go mom.

I do cheer on IFK Göteborg, been to see them a few times, but they are the Swedish version of Everton so not much good ha ha.
