Minimoto & Keita are just two failures costing around £60m i can think of , not arrogance at all , the Dippers peaked and are on the decline there will be other challengers , no doubt.

Minamino is a fairly good signing. Even if he's not a success they'll probably get enough sugar on top to cover his fee+wages.

If you want to talk about bad signings you should look at Ox, Keita and especially Thiago.

Keita was hard to predict, but the other two were really wierd signings. Ox had tons of chances at Arsenal, with some really good players by his side, and was just as underwhelming as he's been at Liverpool.

Thiago is a living injury. In an aging midfield struggling with injuries (Henderson, Milner, Ox and Keita all had problems the season before Thiago's arrival), they decide to sign a 29 year old with a terrible injury records. He has started a maximum of like 30 games the last five years.

To be fair to Liverpool, they consistently manage to sign top quality players for relatively cheap fees. Fabinho, Thiago, Jota, Firmino, Mane, Salah all signed for between 20-40m. It's only really Alisson and Van Dijk that they've paid top dollar for. As much as I dislike them, they're pretty shrewd in the transfer market.
Lamentably, they are.

So they won't be challenging us for the rest of this season?

There is not a club in the world that does not make mistakes in the market, including us.

I doubt there are many City fans, or Liverpool fans, who know how good Diaz is but I am disappointed because this is exactly what Liverpool have to do to compete. They have to replace their aging forward line and Van Dijk. And there is a good chance they have put one jigsaw place into team rebuilding that I was beginning to think wasn't happening. It seems their board is not as stupid as I thought. Not to strengthen your football team in a position of strength was unfathomable.

I hope their fans note though that what they are doing now is exactly what City have been doing for the last 5 years.
