Pretty poor this from Carragher imo, after Wijnaldum opened up about how online abuse affected him.

Genuinely the behaviour of a Cult. Once a former member escapes (aka ‘goes clear’) and becomes an apostate then everything they say will be distorted, discredited and discounted. Especially if it is critical of the Cult and its remaining members.
They really are L (Ron Hubbard) FC

Admittedly it is maybe a case of pot calling kettle black, the fact that I am posting on a social media platform, but it is I guess a summary of how people can hide behind their keyboards and abuse people.
Much of what goes on "online" is great, but examples like those that Sterling, Gini and also recently, Saka, Sancho et al have suffered just show the bad side.

As for "Going Clear"... (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_Clear_(film))
I thought it was a great film. When I lived down south I had a mate who lived about 200yds from their HQ in East Grinstead. Used to be amusing to walk down the drive way and see how far you would get before you had someone come out to "meet you".

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.

He should be heavily censured for that, IMHO.

Sacking him would send out the right message, but I doubt Sty will do that.

It has echoes of the posionous LFC campaign against Raheem Sterling. The Manager and ex players all lined up to lambast Raheem, the sycophantic media joined in along with millions of LFC fans across the world, and the campaign soon became racist in its nature. Carragher knows exactly what he is doing to Winjaldum but no one in the media will call him out for it.

A couple of mates of mine did some external contractor work at that place years ago, ahead of a big gathering/conference. Sparked a full on internal inquiry when one of their colleagues decided to add devil horns and a Hitler tache to a giant portrait of their master

Wijnaldum's treatment, just like Raheem’s was, is absolutely disgusting.

Spit the Scouse should be ashamed of himself, but obviously, as a Kopite, he won’t be.

Bearing in mind they didn't even sack him for spitting in the face of a young girl, I doubt they'll censure him for this.
Belting response to his tweet. Mans a complete dick.

“I love carra but this is not right, if people harass you in a car wind your window up every club has clowns. Maybe drive off and don't spit at them”

crazy how many of their best players have 2 years left or less, everyone's moneyball till its contract renewal time.

Sack him for having an opinion? Most players are soft as shit and use social media and all the other bollocks when it suits them, saint Marcus especially. Obviously any racist abuse is a disgrace but most the other stuff is fair game. Stay off the bullshit world of social media if you’re that arsed but they won’t because it’s great for them commercially.

You don't think his comment posted on social gives dippers the greenlight abusing the lad for leaving Liverpool?

It's Sterling all over again. If Sky are true to their word with their hate online campaign he should be sacked.

“Don’t do something you want to do because people in the world act in a way that shouldn’t be acceptable”. Yawn.

Used to be a thing called freedom of speech. If you go on there promoting your brand or whatever you have to realise it’s full of utter goons and some of those will give you abuse. Not saying it’s right but don’t need to bore us all with it constantly. There are far more serious things going on in the world than some footballer getting abused my an idiot online.

Maybe but I don’t think it’s a big deal.
