Liverpool Thread - 2021/22

The majority of Liverpool fans I encounter online aren't even British, let alone Scouse. Fucking plastic glory hunters who genuinely believe Everton have never won any trophies, and I'd be amazed if any of them even know who Bob Paisley is. Or Steve Heighway (my mum's favourite).

Liverpool are corporate whores. They're not a workers' collective. Not that Everton are either but at least we acknowledge that.
Media and time have changed the whole way fooball is run, played and supported. Maybe its red tinted specs but I dont recall the angst and hostility between clubs when I first started following football ...certainly makes me feel old. I recall going to visit my old "aunts" down the bottom of "The Port", one red, one blue (who incidentally "courted" Joe Mercer briefly) Always banter but never any grief.
Oh for happier times!
Or perhaps more innocent times as I "hope" to be happier by the end of May

It's today's society, led by social media LGWIO, it's full of hate.

Pick a subject, Brexit, Tories, Left, Right, Trump, Business, Banks, Dippers, they are all full of hate for many people.

There's nothing wrong with discussion, disagreement and dislike, but it's quite sad that so many people appear totally consumed by hate.

Is it caused by frustration, a lack of self worth, keyboard warriors protected by anonymity, jealousy, envy.........there must be reasons for this increase in hate?

Nobody is allowed an opposing view otherwise they're hated. The media stokes up the fires of hate and drip feeds it to the masses 24/7. Talkshite is the News of the World of radio. Loudmouth idiots spouting controversial views to get morons to phone in and either agree or rant against them. Simon Jordon being one of the worst, because he can put a sentence together people think he's knowledgeable, whereas he's just a media whore. They all are, sold their souls for money.

As for our fans it is laughable the shite that such halfwits throw at us. When we were in the third tier in 1998/99 we retained a hardcore support of between 28-35,000. That was in spite of having no success for 23 years at that point and with a highly successful local rival who as we won promotion by the skin of our teeth were winning a treble. We lost a couple of generation of young fans during our dark years and we are only just regaining them now. I remember every single football fan admired us back then for sticking with our club through thin and thin while our rivals won everything. Now idiotic football fans from outer Mongolia, who've never stepped foot in the football stadium of the club they're supposed to support giving us stick online is one thing. For paid so called journalist to do the same thing is beyond contempt. For 28-30,000 fans to travel 200 miles at great expense and inconvenience is to be praised not sneered at. Fuck them all

Sickens me to the core the expediency shown by the UK sports media to this lot. It emboldens their feral fan base to believe they can act with total impunity. Spineless click baiters without the moral fibre to stand up and call them out. They would be welcomed with open arms into Putin's propaganda machine.
The Ronaldo tweets will of course be blamed on Chelsea fans..
Grrrrr.....

From my experience you can’t “discuss” anything with a dipper.. the moment you say something that they disagree with they get nasty of offended..

Never has a phrase been more apt for them; “Offended by everything, embarrassed by nothing”

It’s all down to social media, phone in radio shows etc

in the 80’s when Liverpool were easily the best team in Europe I respected them and wanted them to win when watching them on tv in European cup finals (heysel changed that)

but I never ever had to put up with the entitlement, delusion and superiority complex you suffer constantly these days due to the above as you never ever heard off them

I’m sure their fanbase was exactly the same and if I’d have known I’d have wanted them to lose every game badly as I do now

Klopp winning the mental battle, Pep is shook

They have steamroller us today

Their recruitment has just been better than us

Spending £100mil on Jack when Liverpool got Diaz and Jota for about £80mil is what could be the difference this year

I'll admit it, it makes me sick how kuch better their attacking players are than ours
Just wait. We’ll have a much better front three next year.
