Maybe its red tinted specs but I dont recall the angst and hostility between clubs when I first started following football ...certainly makes me feel old. I recall going to visit my old "aunts" down the bottom of "The Port", one red, one blue (who incidentally "courted" Joe Mercer briefly) Always banter but never any grief.

I dont do Twitter but wandered on there recently (I think it was a link from here) & there are some seriously weird people on there talking about football, I am happy to try & have a sensible conversation about football with anybody but the raging hate towards city from some Liverpool fans is amazing, and to think thats while they are doing well, god knows what they would be like if they were losing?It's today's society, led by social media LGWIO, it's full of hate.
Pick a subject, Brexit, Tories, Left, Right, Trump, Business, Banks, Dippers, they are all full of hate for many people.
There's nothing wrong with discussion, disagreement and dislike, but it's quite sad that so many people appear totally consumed by hate.
Is it caused by frustration, a lack of self worth, keyboard warriors protected by anonymity, jealousy, envy.........there must be reasons for this increase in hate?
