In their response the EFL said they’d look at the rules of the competition at the start of the season and revert to the dippers.....does anybody know what the rules stated for such circumstances?

They can only focus on one trophy per season, this season that trophy is the Carabao Cup.

I think it depends on the round you're in. Semi finals is a reschedule first then a bye. I suspect they'll have 13 fit players though so have to play

It seems they're including the known absences of Salah, Keita and Mane in their reasoning for a postponement, under the recently changed guidelines. The BBC articles suggests only 3 playing staff have positive cases so that, plus the 3 away at ACFON, plus injuries, means they must be around the 13 player limit.

Personally, as those 3 were never going to be available anyway, I think that's a little underhand.

Also looks like Klopp would miss the game if it went ahead on Thursday.

Of course they have, but the whole squad look like they are running on fumes due to klopps stupid kick and rush tactics. He's trying to engineer a rest before they get properly found out and probably doesn't fancy arsenal after the game they gave us last week.

This was always on the cards, they will be pushing for a 1 legged affair & would probably concede home advantage to make it happen. I said during the 1/4 final if they went out to Leicester, the Premier league would reschedule at least one Prem game in January (no Salah Mane Keita Matip) so this is them playing footsie & the powers that be have to stand firm, if they can field 8 of the 1/4 final line up (of which only Firminio currently has covid) then they should be made to play
