There needs to be a formal investigation into what has gone on with their testing. There is absolutely no chance they’ve had multiple false positives all coincidentally at the exact same time, when false positives have never been such a significant issue for any club prior. Absolute horse shit. But we all know full well that they’ll be taken at face value and nothing will ever be spoken of this again. It’s all bollocks, quite clearly.

Agree this reflects very badly against the manufacturer of the test. I would think the company will want an investigation into what has happened. This is serious

Why would Klopp tell everyone they were false positives if they'd cheated to get them?

He didn't need to do that, it's confidential, and as he said the false positives did the full quarantine anyway so he's not benefitted from telling everyone they're false positives.

It's a million times more likely some medical staff at Liverpool fucked up and contaminated the tests then Klopp and co. deliberately faking them, then telling everyone about it to brag.

Might have benefited as his front line are away on international duty.

The manufacturers of the test have made billions of tests and billions of £$€, they don't give a shit about 6 false positives under non-standardised conditions at Anfield.

No, how did he benefit by telling us all they were false?

And they will all be away on international duty when the rescheduled Arsenal match takes place as well.
Good! With any luck they might end up out of the top 4! That would be piss funny

They're actually cheating in broad daylight. The odds of what they're claiming are insane.

No they aren't.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the statistics involved.

The chance of a false positive in any given test is 1 in 1000 - 0.001

It is wrong to say the chances of 10 false positives is 0.001^10.

That ignores the very real possibility of contamination when we know there was 1 real positive, and they were all taken on the same day by the same medical staff, likely one player after another.

Had a gander over at rawk, and they are totally insufferable tossers. Whinging that it's unfair what City are doing, destroying competition etc etc. If they're that fucked off with it, they need to stop watching football, call it a day do something else. Two seasons ago was great though wasn't it, football was the best thing since sliced bread. The most entitled fans besides the rags, no doubt about it
Yeah apparently we are like Tesco’s taking over traditional corner shops. These cheeky twats don’t get it do they. Fucking Tescos … we’re Amazon :-)

They benefited because they didn’t have to play Chelsea and then Arsenal within a few days, and following on from the festive fixtures.

They had all week off as a result of the postponement, and now they go into the Semi final after playing Shrewsbury at home, rather than Chelsea away. It is a material advantage even if they have players missing at AFCON.

So the same medical staff that have done all their previous tests, just happen to fuck up an entire batch of tests. What's the chances of that?

What are you on about? They got 5 false positives and 1 real positive out of 40+ tests taken on the day.

Any self respecting person wouldn't make this sh*t up.

But Journalists can and do, and they get paid for doing it.

'Covid Ravaged Liverpool'.

This is just the same deluded nonsense people got angry about when we were accused of it last year, and it's pathetic how unaware of the hypocrisy you seem to be.

He got a midweek fixture off. Great.

Now he's got to play 4 games in 10 days the week after next, and they've lost their home advantage in the second leg of the league cup for ET and penalties, and his AFCON players are still going to be away, and he's had half a dozen players out quarantining not training during the "week off" - on top of the 3 days the training ground was closed.

There is literally no difference between your arguments and the pathetic arguments of Liverpool fans last season upset when our Everton game was postponed that were widely ridiculed on here. None.

If Senegal doesn't advance, Mane is done on 18/1 and leg 2 of the semi is 20/1. Is that enough time to recover? I don't know.

I tend to agree this sounds like a screw-up administering the test, but even if it isn't and there's something nefarious afoot to push games out, why would Klopp admit it now? Are there players who got a false positive who are now going play against Arsenal and/or Brentford that wouldn't have before?

The whole thing is just bloody weird IMO whatever happened.
