I don't even know why we bother pretending this is a "competition" anymore. It's not just PSG that have UEFA in their back pocket, Man City are in a similar entanglement with the Premier League. The number of dodgy decisions that went their way over the last two seasons can't be coincidence. Money is changing hands somewhere. Wouldn't rule out the Tory government's involvement either. Last thing they want is Liverpool winning a league title and the spotlight being on our general anti-monarchy, anti-Tory stance. The establishment media are the same. Every single one of them is singing from the same hymn sheet, all bought off by the oil dollar.

In this (my) particular post, I must apologise for not clarifying or making it crystal clear that i was referring specifically to the league, the references to finishing 2nd and also to, "by a point".

They’re now pointing to wages paid for new signings rather than the fee
One fan of theirs was arguing with me today about Haaland and De Bruynes wages compared to some of their players
I pointed out that they’ve lost the net spend cup they’ve gone on about for years after spending £85m on a striker with city paying 34m less for a better striker

I tried pointed out that he was talking shit and told him that it's 64.2m QUID upfront with an extra 4.3m after 10 matches (so 68.5m QUID) and another 8.6m quid after 60 matches (so 77.1m QUID) with another 8.6m for meeting "unknown targets".

He was having none of it and started going on about empty seats.

They're fucking unbearable! You simply can't have a sensible/serious conversation with any of them about football.

In response to his Emptyhad 'jokes' I sent him a link to a website that listed the average attendances of all premier league clubs year by year to 'educate him', and his response was that he didn't believe ANY stats about our club as we lie about everything and he KNEW that we NEVER filled our stadium.

Minutes later he sent me a link about shirt sales stats saying "Look at these, you don't even sell that many shirts so you can't have that many fans", didn't have the heart to point our where he thought our shirt sale stats came from.
