If only Liverpool had been setting this example when I was a student studying English Literature.

All that paradoxical T S Eliot/Lao Tzu stuff in 'The Waste Land' etc ('In my beginning is my end' and so on) would have been easier to understand/relate to and I could have avoided wandering around at university looking like an offside goal in search of a friendly linesman..
