Six players nominated for the Ballon d'Or, including Darwin Nunez ffs. Guarantee he'd be nowhere near the list if he was still playing in Portugal. But one game for the dippers, and suddenly he's Ballon d'Or material.

Think it based on his previous season just like Haaland nomination based on his Dortmund performance.

Media and fans seem desperate for them to get midfield cover because of injuries to Thiago, Curtis Jones and Oxlade Chamberlain. Number one article on daily mail and liverpool twitter is full of it.

Despite having Fabinho, Keita, Henderson, Milner, Elliot, Carvalho fit and available. 3 of these on the bench ffs!

Their squad being labelled as thin is ridiculous. Theyre stacked and always have been and still not good enough over a league season

I mean officially yeah. But I guarantee he wouldn't be nominated if he still played in Portugal. The last player from the Portuguese league to make the list was Joao Felix, coincidentally, the same season that he joined Atletico Madrid. The only time in the last 10 years that a player from the Portuguese league has made the longlist without first moving to a 'big club' was Rui Patricio in the season the Portugal won the Euros.

Totally agree - His record in Portugal was impressive, but nothing unusual.

He scored 34 goals last season, but at Benfica alone, in the last ten years the top scorer has had 30+ on six occasions. Nunez is only third in the list, and that's just at Benfica.

Looking at the list of Primeira Liga top scorers, over the last dozen or so years, throws up plenty of names with comparable scoring records, but not players you'd expect to see on any best in the world lists.

For any RAWK lurkers.

You mad f*ckers.

From the last page of the RAWK City thread.

Swiss Ramble is really good at presenting the finances but he does so in a very unquestioning way. I always wince when he refers to Man City's revenue as it's so ludicrous. He must surely know it's entirely fictitious but I don't think he sees himself as an investigator.

The way Haaland is managed seems ready made for the sportswashers and probably by design. His dad is clued up enough to know that, without massive rule changes, those clubs should dominate for the entirety of Erling's career and the biggest challenge they face is giving the illusion of the accounts adding up. Perfect then for the majority of the costs for the transfer to be opaque and open to being reported however the buying club likes. That, and the Haaland's becoming obscenely rich.

Note to the mad f*ckers.

City’s transfers and accounts are audited every season by UEFA(FFP) and the PL. Explain that one away you deluded, irrational, and clueless f*ckers!
