I'd say that team is coming to the end of its natural cycle. It happens to every successful team; Liverpool back in the 80s, Arsenal in the early 90s, Chelsea under Mourinho and utd under Ferguson. And we'd be naive to think it won't happen to us at well.
Of course itll happen to us, lets all just enjoy the ride until that time

An Arsenal win next weekend is absolutely the best result

There's only one team capable of challenging us this season, and they're only sat in the top half because of goal difference

The problem for me is threefold:
1 - VVD is 80% (at most) of the player he was
2 - They sold Mane
3 - Teams no longer fear them
Bang on that. In all fairness that should all have been solved by signing the greatest striker of a generation.

It is a fair point but when is Bayern's run of dominance coming to an end?

RM/Barca very, very rarely out of the top 3 for a long time, with our current set up, I can see us being a force for a long time or it could be over when Pep leaves as nobody signs for City but only to work with Pep, so we could be fucked within 2 years.

:)

That's true but we have done exceptionally well so far with a transition involving three teams managed by Mancini, Pellegrini, and Pep. As long as we keep Soriano and Khaldoon in place and maintain our mostly brilliant recruitment record we should be ok. No one will ever reach 100 points again though. For me that record will stand as long as this planet is still spinning.

I wonder if City have just killed them.....

The fact that no matter how "great" they have been, City have been greater.
What ever they do........ it's never enough....
Psychologically MCFC have destroyed them.

Klopp had nothing else to peddle after last season. What could he possibly have said that would give his players any hope of competing this season?

"Okay lads, I know we couldn't beat them last season when they didn't have a striker and yes I know they've got Haaland now........ oh! Fuck it"
