What strikes me about that quote, if true, is that one of the individuals mentioned appears to be a professional footballer who is interested in becoming a really top-class player, whilst the other seems to be a child collecting "stickers" who is interested in showing off about luckily getting the gold CL shiny one.I remember TAA saying something along the lines of "I'm not being funny, but I've won a CL and Foden hasn't". Which may be true, but it struck me at the time as something about that Liverpool team's mentality. Once you've won everything, what's the point. I think the CL/League failure is less of an issue, and more that the whole team thinks they've completed football. Foden, bless him, wants to win the league every year, not just win everything once.
