Here's the full "official" statement apparently to the Athletic:

There have been a number of recent changes of ownership and rumours of changes in ownership at EPL clubs and inevitably we are asked regularly about Fenway Sports Group’s ownership in Liverpool.

FSG has frequently received expressions of interest from third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool. FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.

FSG remains fully committed to the success of Liverpool, both on and off the pitch.

But the sources also say there's a full pitchbook which -- you figure -- the sources have seen, that contemplates a full sale, not just sale of a stake.

All I see is language about additional shareholders like our Silver Lake thing. Why is everyone assuming a sale?

Well then they have a strange way of going about it. All they are talking about is how they can't compete. Who is going to invest in a company that tells everyone they can't compete?

This is an interesting take...

Interesting! Not a fan of the way they've done some things and how we can't be arsed in the transfer market half the time but not sure we'll do much better.

Be funny to see the hypocrisy of pundits and rival fans if we are linked with sportswashing, it'll suddenly be a problem no doubt!"
Eh ? That can’t possibly mean what I think it does, surely to god ?

The statement looked like they were interesting in bringing more investors on board rather than selling up. But maybe the fact that they released a statement is telling. I don't remember City's owners releasing a statement asking for investors, they just announced the deals when they were done.
Running two agendas for an easy exit, they know there’s no way the scousers are gonna let them divorce easily, so they push the narrative of “oh we’re just looking for extra investment to plough into the team” when all along they’re flogging the lot. The fall out from this is gonna be epic unless they complete this side of Xmas

£3bn will take some funding particularly with interest rate hikes…before we celebrate too much let’s see who is in for them & how deep their pockets actually are
