Liverpool Thread | 2024/25

Yes, have had this argument loads of times with Liverpool fans. They throw up stats about the most interceptions in the league or some shit.
I judge football with what I see with my eyes. He's a very arrogant and lazy defender. Thinks that he doesn't have to put in the hard yards and you very rarely see him busting a gut to get back or make an effort to defend.

Those saying that yesterday's woeful showing was down to the Madrid talk are also wrong. He throws in performances like that a lot. Fulham recently he was at fault for 2 goals, Everton at the back end of last season when he couldn't be bothered to jump to contest a ball in from a corner.

There was a reason that Southgate never trusted him.

His head's up his arse with all the smoke blown up it from the likes of Neville calling him "potentially the best full back we've ever seen"

Don't get me wrong, on the ball he is amazing at times, and will do well at Madrid probably. Him and Bellingham will be a horrible pair.

It wouldn't bother me if he signed a new contract with Liverpool as I believe he is a liability.
I'd much rather see Salah or VVD leave

leave him to his google adverts. just another scouse rashford whos let money and fame get to him

Obviously disappointed by yesterdays results.....first of all with Ipswich not holding on. Bringing them that little bit closer to the rags and putting that little bit more doubt in their minds that, maybe their aren't 3 worse teams than them in the league. persoanlly I cannot see them as genuine relegation candidates.

Whilst the Liverpool performance was abject at times, that performance by the rags was almost reminiscent of the sort of thing we did in our 30years of mediocrity. A case of only raising a perfomrance against the "top teams". they did it against you lot and then again yesterday. I can only hope that they revert to their last few games now and continue labouring away in the bottom half of the table.

I can only hope that yesterday was a wake up call to the squad. Don't believe all the hype and bullshit. We are in january and another few performances like that and Arsenal/Chelsea will be back on level terms and City will be within a point...we could see that by the end of the month! I had hoped that we wouldnt lose from being complacent and I suppose I should therefore be reasonably happy that wasnt the case and that so many of the team just had off days.

I watched previous games of the rags where Dalot looked a complete liability and yet yesterday he looked a world beater...but then Trent really did have a bad day. I can only be thankful that Bradley is a pretty good replacement if and when TAA does disappear off to Madrid. I can only say good uck to him but please make a decision quickly to put us all out of our misery and prevent the hacks in the media from spinning it out any longer.

because if you watch them play they will show you exactly what you said, they are the best of a bad bunch, there is nothing exceptional about them and everything that has gone against us this season has gone for them, every tight decision, deflection etc etc has gone in their favour but its not like they are battering teams left and right.
Theyve also got to go away to Us, Arsenal, Villa, Forest, Chelsea, Brighton. Their second half fixtures are a lot tougher. theyll do well to get to 90pts never mind 100.

Agreed.

The second part of the season is crunch time. No matter what fixtures you play it's a hectic schedule of every three days, Picking and choosing players for certain fixtures. I think they'll go far in the Champions League so they'll be having to rotate am awful lot and that's when you'll see strange results at times.

We know this all too well in past seasons. It's fucking tough.

Even his passing in general is overrated

He's certainly capable of a brilliant pass, but with him it's a case of throwing enough shit and some will stick. His general passing accuracy is actually mediocre.

If most premier league footballers tried a Hollywood pass as often as him, some would come off for them too..

He loses the ball a hell of a lot and the commentators go silent.
100% this. All the passes that go astray are ignored so they can wet themselves over the one that comes off

Th rags did not turn up against us. They were shite and we gave them the result. As for the game, LiVARpool were not abject but average. There’s a difference, I didn’t see all the game but for £35million, McAllister is a bargain

An entire article on the BBC about their treatment of one of their own, didnt watch any of it but it must have been bad to get this much attention. What happened to Liverpool supporters being a different class? Season couldnt be going any better for them. Being handed everything on a plate yet there is long periods of silence in their biggest game and they're booing the local lad who wants out. Imagine being them...
