The clueless Oliver Holt in the Daily Fail.

Mohamed Salah scaled heights that only Messi and Ronaldo have touched in modern times.

Was a toss up between him and Mane who had perfected the art,hes got a good pupil 200 mile south in Sakashit ,who was a disgrace on Sunday.
Always infuriates me when good/great players resort to this tactic and im old enough to remember Franny.

For fuck's sake!

Frannie wasn’t a diver.

Of the 13 penalties he scored in 1970/71, only four were awarded for fouls on him.

His nickname was Lee One Pen, not Lee Won Pen!
Absolutely correct Vienna ! In fact Franny once said that he ran straight at defenders with the intention of getting past them with the ball. If he didn't then it was a 50/50 chance he would be fairly tackled or be fouled. Therefore he reckoned the odds were 2-1 in his favour. Salad is completely different - he runs at defenders looking for the first opportunity to fall over and get a free shot from the spot. The man who perfected the art of falling FORWARDS into the box whilst being pulled BACK from outside of it. Cheating cnut.

Looking forward to the six-part BBC documentary series, the Echo's 124-page special edition, the hide-bound biography and a Willy Russell musical at the Liverpool Empire.

Meanwhile, we patiently await a single programe about our Centurions season, our domestic quad or even our Treble.

He was a free agent, wasn’t he? They were never going to sell him last summer after he’d just signed his new contract.

They were sentimental. The signs were there last season that his legs were going. Same with KDB.

We made the right decision.
Sorry mate for posting link below to this shite lol, but you are right although I knew the figure was there somewhere. It was summer of 23 they turned down £100mil on deadline day, which I suppose was worthwhile seeing as he had the season of his life, however they also apparently wanted £100mil in the winter just gone haha.

I find the difference in attitude between KDB and Salah in their final seasons indicative of their characters. Kev quietly went about his work without a (public at least) critical comment of how he was treated, whereas as Salahs toys were out of the pram simply because he was benched in a CL game. Class v Entitlement

And Spitty, rattling off a list of great players who he could be compared to (Bergkamp, Zola, Cantona, Hazard and Ronaldo). No mention of Aguero, though.

For reference Manuel Akanji and Julian Alverez won as many champions leagues and Premier Leagues as Salah. No one is talking about them in relation to Messi and Ronaldo.

And no doubt Salah will fall over it and claim a penalty.
Don’t know how the dips will cope with yet another bout of misery.
It’s almost as if they enjoy it.
I've noticed on things like the BBCs HYS the dippers have made him their scapegoat this season.
Blaming him for their embarrassing defence of the title and demanding he goes.

Just you watch some of the turn arounds from them now as they get the chance to publicly mourn this separation from Salah.
A player that I fully expect the media will now milk to death probably by describing him as the 2nd greatest, just behind Manchester United's Christiano, thus pushing the sale of candles on Merseyside to a level not seen since the ending of the Klopp era.....22 months ago

BBC running just the 8 articles on him, none on Tom Daley mind...
I posted the following in the comments;
A wonderful player obviously. Lpool will miss him for sure. Someone told me he is also an Olympic standard Diver as well. Now that’s versatility. ;-)
Looking forward to a few thumbs down

Fantastic player. I don't think anyone could have seen coming - in his Chelsea and Fiorentina days - what he's produced in England since 2017. Slice it whichever way you want, 377 G/A in 435 apps for Liverpool is astonishing stuff from the wing. Always frightened me whenever we played them, especially at Anfield. I'm not gonna miss playing him.

But people tried warning Liverpool this time last year that giving him a massive new contract was going to come back and bite them on the arse - and here we are, 12 months later, with the massive new contract for Salah biting them on the arse. He's lost that explosiveness that made him so dangerous for years and he's lost it incredibly quickly.

God he loved a dive as well.

Still, an incredible footballer. He really was. At the peak of his powers he was unplayable. He dragged Liverpool to that title in 2025 basically on his own. Liverpool scored 86 goals in the PL last season season and Salah alone got 29 of them while assisting another 18 (37 G/A), which means he directly contributed to 43.1% of their goals.

It couldn't be sustained, though, and that's why they've dropped off so significantly this season. Hopefully their replacement for him is nowhere near his level. Thankfully there aren't many wingers of his former quality ready and available for them right now. I really hope this is the end of their era at the top table again, but we'll see.
