Taking about dippers buying the league I posted this. The reply was priceless

I don't understand why they're so defensive about spending money.

Do they think they can compete for a premier league title?

Or in this case, defend a premier league title with homegrown players?

Welcome to the real world.

They should thank their lucky stars that Klopp isn't still around after the amount of money they've spent.

Didn't Klopp say that he would leave the club if they needed to spend £50,000,000.00 on a player?

It's a good job Slot isn't as moralistic.

I really haven't got an issue with them spending money.

Knock yourselves out, I say.
It's about time they joined the party and got off their high horse.

The issue that I've got is the double standards from the media, pundits and now Richard Masters jumping on the bandwagon, preaching net spend.

I don't tend to believe in coincidence. However, I do find it interesting that the summer Liverpool choose to go bonkers in the transfer market, the sports journalists and the broadcasting media become obsessed with "Net Spend"

We had Richard Masters on Sly Sports early adamant that their net spend was only £100,000,000.00 and advocating that "you strengthen from a position of strength"

Well if you know that you bent twat stop investigating MCFC for being ambitious.
It's about time they joined the party? Pretty sure they've been in the party from the start

You wouldn't think so from the fuss the media are making about their spending.

We all know that clubs spend big in the Premier league, but the media narrative on their net spend is getting very tedious now.

Please understand, I am talking about the absolute basic stuff a fan would look at. I appreciate that a lot of City fans, have read and looked at so much in regards to finances, it hurts the brain.

@Tracking back Out of the top 5 or 6 clubs, we probably recoup the most money when we resell a player, from the first team?

Fans don't take into account, agent fees, wages, add-ons and bonuses. The media does the same thing, communicate the very basics.

Player is sold for X and club buys player Y and player Z. The very basics say player X pays for Y and Z.

That isn't the way it works though. It doesn't get reported for instance that the club sells player for £25m but they owe the player £8m in wages. Player is adamant the club pay him or he won't leave.

Personally I don't get involved in who spent what. I might have done 20 -30 years ago but FFP / PSR and all the other jargon, means most people end up looking stupid.

Supporters of the national team are made up of people from a wide range of club sides. Some of those club sides would be nowhere near qualifying for European competition.

IF the amount of clubs qualifying, were equivalent to today, the problem would likely have been far worse.

Looking at current football banning orders. Some of the non league/lower league financial problems may be explained! Some have double digits.

Yes.

I know.

Anyone would think that the media were on some type of commission, the amount of times they've mentioned your net spend.

You do realise other clubs sell players too? In fact that academy of MCFC that the same media journalists once delighted in taking the piss out of, makes more money selling players than any other academy in top flight football.

MCFC's annual profits are also amongst the highest in the UK and across Europe too.

We could go on sparring like this all week. The point I'm making is that every football club in the land spends money on players.

What annoys me is that when clubs like yours, the rags and Arsenal spend big you've got the Press and the broadcasting media justifying it. They also go to painstaking lengths to explain it to their readers and viewers almost in an attempt to placate them for some reason.

However, when MCFC spend money, their tone changes significantly. The media report on this in a very moralistic way and those same readers and viewers are shown the vulgar side of football, with plenty of innuendo mixed in and a reminder of the 115 charges.

Whether you, your fans and the media want to admit it or not MCFC is a self-sustaining football club and we have been for a great number of years now.

These stats mean fuck all.
All it tells me is GMP actually do their job while Merseyside police stand around doing nothing, probably have a good laugh while the feral run riot.

How many arrests when the ferals smashed the fuck out of our coach? The maths as you say are hard to do if the authorities can't even see crimes in plain sight.

Manchester City have been left bemused after Merseyside Police revealed they had failed to make a single arrest more than five months after City's coach was attacked on its way into Anfield for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final in April.13 Sept 2018

Manchester City left bemused after police admit to no arrests ...

Didn't click on it but just saw something on you tube where Slot claims Liverpool are by far the most honest team in the league
No idea of context or whether a joke or serious comment

My point is you get annoyed by people who don't take that much interest in the financial side. They can't justify things they say. People on sky sports are not financial experts.

I am not an idiot. You won't rope me into the whole saga!

It comes from their Irish heritage.

Liverpool fans are world famous for their cheap drama and 'hand-wringing'

They do enjoy a tragic ending, it gives them a sense of purpose.
In my experience, it's a common trait amongst a certain breed of Englishmen to confuse racist tropes with perspicacity.
