These are your league winners again.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them dominate for a few years.

I trust we'll turn it around, I just don't think it'll be this season. I reckon the dippers will be out of sight by the time things click for us.

I've got an Asus iPad 10.1 mate.

Dunno mate, this one is an iPad.

Anyway, back on topic.

Wonder if Isak will get the kind of treatment Grealish got at away grounds after signing for us?

No doubt the dippers will somehow turn it around and get the FA involved by calling it racism. Self awareness is their strong point.

Fair play to them for going out and spending big they’ve signed some very very good players.

We’ve been reluctant to do it the last few seasons and look where we are now.

If we sign Donnarumma he will be the first truly world class player to come here since Haaland arrived.

They don’t half sell some shite for decent fees, unfortunately they have a formidable squad if they add Guehi and Isak in there. Cunts

Gone big this summer acquiring talent...is this just them throwing there lot in whilst they can to stay comfortably within the top 4 for the next few years

Cos i dont see the yanks spending like they have every year onwards

35 games to go.

Lots of undercover scousers getting giddy on here.
No way I am I getting giddy. Yes it looks good but form comes and goes. AS you saw with Rodri, it only takes one kick or one awkward move/fall and you are out. So nothing is certain after only 3 games.

I was surprised at the number of posts on this thread in reaction to the signings, but even more surprised by the general tone of the comments.

City have been the benchmark for the last decade+ and so cannot be written off.

I see it the same with all this talk in the recent posts about your spending. Not only have you built successful side after successful side, you have also built the infrastructure that is the envy of every other club in the country I would suggest. To me, that simply means that transition it may be, but it will be a short transition and there won't be much in it come May.

Obviously having zero football intelligence compared to Pep, I still cannot get over favouring Doku/Trafford over Grealish/Ederson.

You keep speaking on behalf of everyone else. Guehi would drastically improve our defence and is better than every centre half we have minus Josko. Very few people would complain about buying a proven premier league and quality centre half.

Tweak the style of play? The journey must have impacted on my vision yesterday then watching us being slow, laboured and boringly pass the ball about and being confused why there was no space to make chances, as we allow every man on their team to get back.
When you say very few would complain are you speaking for others?

We have two proven international centre backs, one of whom won POTY, and they get pelters. One because he appears to want to stay and one, seemingly, because he has a fit girlfriend. The latter won the league every year that he was here until a season decimated by injury. Gundogan and Bernardo - pelters; Haaland - pelters; wingers - pelters; academy players - pelters. I don't create these thoughts from a vacuum. Against that backdrop, yes, I imagine that at any other point in our recent history, many here would say that Guehi was not up to our level. I don't personally feel that Guehi is better than Stones, Gvardiol, nor Dias. He is a decent player but when did England international become a measure of quality?
I just think that we are in transition. And in this moment several players are not in their best form.

If you think that the new coaches have not been brought in to tweak the playing style then you are on a completely different page to me. It has even been described as the Lijnders effect in the press, and I have also been asked about it. It has happened, visibly, if sporadically, in all of our games, but it takes time to embed.

I am because I see no logic in people complaining about a proven PL centre half coming in to strengthen a very weak and vulnerable area? I didn't see one negative post about the lad so maybe I'm not looking in the right areas. POTY was won what, 5 years ago or so? Talk about living off past glories. You are also comparing apples with oranges. People will knock current players based off current performances. That has nothing to do with signing a quality centre back. I couldn't tell you the last game Dias or Stones had to be honest where they stood out and chances minimal from the opposition.

I will go off what the press describe our new playing style as then, rather than my own eyes that has attended every game so far. Slow, boring, passive build up. Zero difference to last year.
