Benteke thread on RAWK is funny as fuck. If Carlsberg did u-turns.

It is hard to overstate the disaster of a season that last season was. In a way I sympathize with the different approach of just paying the asking fee and being done with it. I think everyone realizes and understands that we've overpaid, but the powers-that-be erred on securing the first choice.



....but the problem is that Spurs have Kane, and Pochettino knows what he's doing there; Arsenal are 4th place experts; and Manchester United are promoting multi-million world-class talent from their academy. So even if we improve, yes, 6th could still be our ceiling. The brutal start to the season doesn't help.

You didn't overpay in the sense that it was obvious that whoever wanted Benteke would have to pay the release fee....unless he started agitating for a move. Not clear who else Liverpool could have gone for in the English game.

If Liverpool play a direct game, then he'll do well but what's the point of having the likes of Coutinho in the team if it's a case of get it wide and then play into space for benteke to attack it. Ings may do well for you. He's an unknown quantity. He did really well for a poor team last season.

You been away, pal? In your absence then Liverpool have just sold one of their best players (Sterling's gone to Man City in case you're wondering who).

They're using a lot of that money to sign Benteke.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday anyway (try and get a hotel with free wireless next time though - keep up to date with the news and that).

As it turns out I have been away but I'm aware Sterling has been sold but they've got Jordan Ibe!!

I appreciate they've sold Sterling and Suarez but that argument only goes so far when they then spend about 150mil, maybe more, in two summers

Real rollercoaster on that forum this past week or so. Must be a disaster since they're all too short to go on that ride.
