Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

Piss poor game management, and like the league game we caused our own downfall, pep sometimes needs to think that maybe being a bit more cautious is not a bad thing in certain games, live to fight another day instead of looking almost certainly dead and buried,it’s alright doing that all out attack at Barca a number of years back but he had a player called Lionel messi,,still convinced there’s a curse or hoodoo on us playing anfield...

Lets be honest, even IF we go through we aren't beating the likes of Barca/Real/Munich. Yet...

We have come a long way but we still have years of experience with the youngsters we have and a few world class players to add to the mix.

Liverpool are the same. They aint going any further than 1/4 finals and they are even further behind than us. Cup team yes, league team with week in week out consistency, no.

Lets smash the rags this weekend please and worry about the 2nd leg afterwards...

If we turned up we could do Bayern, the other 2 though we'd struggle against.

This is what pisses me off. I can take losing but to lose before we've even kicked off is another story. Sometimes he over complicates things. Bernando would've been perfect for this game because of his ball retention yet he gets benched for someone who's scared to put a tackle in because doesn't want to do his ACL in

We looked so lob sided it was ridiculous. When you play only with a left winger you make it so easy for the opposition.

See this is why i am fuming. Klopp does not have a fucking plan b.....he goes for it at home every fucking game, to score early goals and then they revert to type and fall deep. It isnt fucking rocket science to see that or work it out. The majority of us on here fucking predicted it

They play one way and we just allowed it to happen, we rolled over again providing stupid mistakes and off passes to let them rampage up field and score

So why the hell did we not just control the game for the first 30 mins to just keep possession and frustrate them.

I wanted us to go through and win this competition, tha5 first half has highlighted to me that the pkayers have a long way to go to proving they have the ability to do it

That starts in the return leg
its fucking crazy. We all knew lpool would playing like this including pep. Lpool could only beat us if we played one way and we fucking played that exact way. Pep has done insanely well this season but he seems to not be able to do it against the top teams. We looked naive today, just like he looked against Barca with Bayern. Gutted isn’t the word, bastard dippers will be giving me loads over the coming days.

A Scouse mate who was on the Kop tonight text me (back) after the game.

He said “once the crowd gets going it’s priceless”.

We all agreed that we were the difference against United at Wembley in 2011.

Serious question, why do we rarely do what their fans did tonight? And I don’t mean the coach bit.

If they score ONE next Tuesday, we need FIVE.

Be honest with yourselves and realize that has very very short odds of happening.

We have too little strength against strong, in your face, teams, and the creative talent to beat 99% of teams. Liverpool attacked our weaknesses and we were unable to attack in the first half, because we had only one outlet, which was quickly double teamed.

Live and learn.
If the title done and dusted I fancy us scoring that much

This will sound like sour grapes but despite Liverpool's first half effort they aren't going to win the Champions League either. There are a couple of street smart sides left that can realistically expose their fault in their team.
