Liverpool v City 1st leg CL Qtr Final post match

That's right - people are commenting here like we usually turn up at Anfield and boss the game - well news-effing-flash people - we don't. I'm not happy, but it could have been far worse. Even more annoying, if you cancel out both of the offsides, and their usual 'worldie' strike against us - then its not all that: there are some games and results you have to take on the chin - this was one of them.

Overcoming a 3-0 reverse is not out of the question - believe.
I`m with you Believe !!!!

Walker is a liability at times. We all know that.
Ederson was terrible for the first goal.

Not one shot on target. We totally shat the bed.
No fight in the team when we went 1-0 down.
Would have shared the sentiment had we registered shots on target. But no this is collective.

Absolutely gutted about that. Hugely frustrating too in that it was so predictable that Liverpool would be chasing everything down like that in the first half. Why did we let them do that to us?

Not going with a proper winger on the right proved to be a mistake.

I am still fuming with that performance and the tactics employed however what I will say is that we were very unlucky with a few decisions and in my life I don't think I've seen a game where every ricochet, blocked shot or block fell to an opposition player.
We had absolutely no luck at all tonight.

Our only chance is what happens at UEFA as a result of the coach welcome. The pictures i have seen are seriously bad. A hail of bottles ro ks amd heavy duty fireworks.

We would be banned from Europe for that

UEFA should have made it clear before the galant such action would result in a bye to the other team......but shock horror no prevtstive measures from them

Gutted at the moment.

Rather than back the formation that has played so well all season, Pep decided to change it. Fair enough if he thought Raz wouldn't handle it, but why not just a straight swap for Bernardo who, incidentally, has played well in all our Champs league games. As a result of sticking in Ilkay, we looked completely unbalanced and lacked any cohesion.

In my view the occasion got to both Pep and the players. We were done before a ball was kicked, and that's simply not good enough from a team that is leading the league by such a wide margin.

A lot of hysteria on here tonight
People seem to forget how good this team has been this season.
Until their first goal (offside!) we had been well in control
We had a perfectly good goal chalked off for offside
Things could have been v different
We are still in this...remember the 5-0?

That's the spirit. Nothing to lose now really. Just go for it second leg.

I thought Laporte was the best player on the pitch, we just have no Plan B. We should have totally slowed it down and took the sting out of the game. Playing Gundogan though was a shocking decision, he looked like he'd won a comp!

I agree with Laporte. Really strong in possession, the only one tonight.
